Has anyone read this? It seems absolutely amazing. Is anyone following this? I watched some info about it on youtube.
I've noticed I've been extremely blah for like the last 1.5 years and the information that I've read about this book seems like the real thing.
I'm not a believer that we need SSRI's to correct chemical imbalance, but to get to the root of why someone's brain may be lacking serotonin.
If anyone has read this and utilized the info in this book, please comment! I'm super interested. |

I had not heard about this book. What more can you tell about it? Does it give steps on how to help?
what is SSRI? |

SSRI stands for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Like prozac, zoloft and paxil.
I don't know as much as I'd like about the book, I'm going to buy it. That's why I was asking. There is some stuff about it on YouTube...give it a look. |

From what I gather so far is...
If ones brain is having trouble making catecholamines, serotonin, dopamine etc.... it is because they are lacking the amino acid responsible for making said brain chemicals.
This book and website give a quiz, to see if you are depressed, sensitive, stressed, or just blah-ish. Then from that point you learn what foods you could eat to replenish your body of the amino acid you need. If unable to get these from food it also informs you of the supplemental amino acids (if you need it in that form).
Worth a try, I have the blahs and I know plenty of people with anxiety and depression. Changing diet or taking amino acids definitely beats taking zoloft and such! |

Interesting...there are definitely food that makes you feel better, gives you more energy etc, but I also think a change of the way you focus your thoughts are essential (not talking about "positive thinking" though)as the way you think (and talk to yourself) has a huge impact on how you feel) |

Hi BF,
I appreciate your honesty; that's a powerful statement to make. In the last few years, I've dealt with some serious issues with depression that have really impacted my life in ways no one is really aware of. It definitely sounds like it would be worth my time to read. Thanks! |

Ok, so the book isn't BS! I'll definitely have to get it then.
It's not just about depression. It's also about stress and anxiety I believe.
My issues as of lately are just being blah. Not so much depressed, just no major zeal for life. Lots of things going on lately that have contributed to this. My sister is def depressed though and I hope to help her as well.
Thanks for the answers guys. |

I haven't read "The Mood Cure" but I have read "The Diet Cure" which is an excellent book by the same author. I feel much better whenever I follow the suggestions listed in her book -- my problem has been lack of consistency ... I get lazy the closer I get to achieving my goals ![Embarassed](images/smiles/redface.gif) |

I have the book. I had used St Johns Wort in the past with good results but found my eyes became sensitive to light so wanted to find soemthing else. My search led me to this book.
Unfortunately her other supplements she mentions did nothing for me. |
