This was my own little experiment. I've had sparse brows for years because I'm hypothyroid. I've been using minoxidil on my left brow since the beginning of January, around the same time I started using NOTH eyelash serum on my lashes and right brow. The other day I was shocked to realize that the hairs on my left brow needed trimming they had gotten so long. A pleasant surprise! There is a noticeable difference between left and right brow, so now I've got to start using it on my other eyebrow.
So if nothing you've tried works, try this. One bottle will last you forever! |

SoftSkin, a while ago someone posted about the side effects of Minoxidil that made his skin stop producing elastin/collagen (? sorry I don't remember), resulting in wrinkles although he was too young to wrinkle.
That scared me off Minoxidil - I'd been using it on my brows, too, with reasonable success, but I've stopped now because I'd noticed I was developing 'loose' skin around my eyes, and becoming more prone to puffiness than ever before. I didn't know why this was, until I read that thread, and it hit me that maybe it was the Minoxidil that was the culprit. I don't know if this is all only in my mind, but I have noticed significant improvement on the skin around my eyes after I'd stopped Minoxidil.
Have you not noticed anything to that effect? |

I've been using Minoxidl for maybe 2 and a half months...seen some growth using twice a day.
NO affect on skin around my eyes...so probably affects each person differently.
Sad part is, it speeds up the eyebrow dye fading. |

Minoxodil really really thickened up my eyebrows as well, but it caused hair to grow ALL over my face as well, it was not cute or worth it. |

I did notice (because I got lazy and started using a q-tip to apply )that I have new hairs growing slightly above the inner (near nose) top part of my brows..so I'll have to watch that.
ALL over your face!!! |

Alternative that won't make your skin wrinkly or cause hair to grow everywhere: Cold-pressed castor oil massaged into your brows every night and a little gentle massage/brushing in the morning with a spooly brush (or something similarly scratchy). Castor oil conditions and strengthens hair and encourages new growth. The massaging/brushing helps exfoliate the skin (just like scalp massages). |

I just use my pinky finger to rub it in. I figure I can shave or pluck any extra hairs. If things get too bushy, I'll use the narrow NOTH lash brush when the serum is used up.
I used copper peptides on my face so there is no skin sagging.
I wish the Rogaine people would come up with a formula for eyelashes. I'm very tempted to do a similar experiment on the lower lashes on one eye because with gravity, it will be less likely to drip into my eyes as it would in the upper lashes. I'd use the skinny NOTH brush and very little. Has anyone tried this? |
