I'm a fan of this!
Light texture means that I can apply other creams on top.
Niacinamide really helps to smooth my skin.
Plus peptides inc Lysine, Arginine, Thronine, Serine, Proline, Alanine, Glycine that are found in much more expensive creams
Anyone else tried and liked it? |

There are a lot of people on makeupalley (the website) that like the Regenerist line, especially the serum. I might give it a try someday as if it works well that would be great because it is a lot cheaper. Which other creams do you put over it? Thanks for your review. |

arielstar - Thanks for your review. Have you tried the Olay ProX line? If so, how do they compare? |

I heard and read a lot of good reviews of the Olay Regenerist. I never tried this specific one, but want to give it a try. Is there a lot of silicone in it? |

I used the regenerist three point treatment creme and was very underwhelmed. It needed extra moisturising... my skin just got too dry with it.
I don't care about the hype....http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/beauty/article3640673.ece
I thought it was a waste of money. |

Hi there, I haven't tried that one. I have tried Total effects and the 7 day intervention. I really NEED the niacinamide because I have two sensitive spots on my face that won't heal unless I use niacinamide, which repairs the intercellular matrix on the surface of the skin. It is definitely found in Total Effects and Regenerist. If ProX has it, I wouldn't mind giving it a try and report back. |

Hi there, unfortunately, it contains silicone high on the ingredient list, namely cyclopentasiloxane (2nd item), dimethicone crosspolymer (6th), dimethicone (7th) , steryl dimethicone (8th)
I don't like the feel of silicone either but this contains the niacinamide and amino acids that I like in the formulation.
I don't believe it is a "complete" product, as I usually look for natural oil and hydration agents in my routine. Therefore, I use it sparingly (like a serum) in conjunction with other products (non olay). |

Hi there, as I mentioned previously, it's not a complete product. It does have its merits in terms of niacinamide and amino acids which are hard to find in a cream. On the other hand, it's not hard to find a product that is moisturising/ protective. So I layer Regenerist with another product.
For %15, I think it's good value. |

arielstar, if you need the product to have niacinamide, have you determined that the regenerist has the most compared to total effects? Also have you compared it to Nia24? |

Hello,
I am using the serum and cream (but not night cream) for 3 weeks and I really like them. The cream is not sticky, it has tightened my skin right away. Love it! They are so much cheaper than my other Valmont cream. |

Hi Natalyn, it doesn't state the percentage of niacinamide in the packaging. How do you compare the amount from one product to another?
I have not heard of Nia24. Is it good?
I tried making my own niacinamide cream from raw material, putting it into homemade cream. Didn't work the same as the Olay. |

arielstar - the reason I asked was because Pro X is supposed to be a "step up" in the Olay product line. I'll see if I can find some info on the formulation for you. |

From futurederm:
Quote: |
The main active ingredient in all three products in the kit is niacinamide (vitamin B3). According to Bissett et. al., niacinamide does it all: reduces fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmented spots, red blotchiness, and skin sallowness (yellowing), and increases elasticity. Further, according to a 2005 study by Draelos et. al., niacinamide may help alleviate some of the symptoms of rosacea by increasing hydration and barrier function of the stratum corneum (the uppermost layer of the skin), and may have some anti-tumor characteristics as well. Lastly, niacinamide has limited functionality in fighting acne: in a 1995 study by Takozaki et. al., it was reported that a 4% topical niacinamide treatment applied twice daily may help to treat acne by reducing inflammation with similar efficacy to 1% clindamycin gel.
All three products feature niacinamide, palmitoyl dipeptide 7, palmitoyl pentapeptide 4, and tocopheryl acetate, in addition to the UVA/UVB protection provided by chemical sunscreens in the Olay ProX Age Repair Lotion SPF 30 (included in the kit). Palmitoyl dipeptide-7 is a relatively new ingredient in skin care. According to the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, dipeptides are relatively new and increasingly popular in skin care. The addition of fatty acids (i.e., “palmitoyl” = palmitate) to dipeptides allows them to better diffuse across the stratum corneum, without any found undesirable effects. With that said, the palmitoyl dipeptide 7 is a new addition for Olay, as it is not found in their earlier Olay Regenerist or Olay Total Effects lines, amongst others.
According to Dr. Mary Lupo, the second peptide in the formulation, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 (pal-KTTKS) has the same specific peptide sequence as type I collagen. Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 has been found to stimulate production of certain types of collagen and glycosaminoglycans. Limited studies from Procter and Gamble (the makers of Olay), including this 2003 study by Linter et. al., further demonstrate that 100 ppm palmitoyl pentapeptide (pal-KTTKS) exhibits similar effects to 0.02% all-trans retinoic acid, which are typical concentrations found in drugstore products. |

Thank you, 3rd. for the info. I found out that niacinamide helped my skin by default. I tried many other products that are supposed to be good for sensitive skin but they didn't work (eg bisabolol) |

I love this!! And its not expensive, feels great, smells great and my skin is supple and moisturised in the morning.
I wonder how this compares to the micro sculpting cream though. Once I'm done with my current moisturiser, I'll get the day cream as well. |

Has anyone with rosacea tried it? I can't use the IS Clinical Poly-Vit serum due to niacin making my skin flush, so I wondered about this one. |

For those interested in Pro X, they're offering a rebate of $20 for $50+ purchase occuring during 3/12-4/9/10 right now. I'm sure you can find the rebate form by googling it. I got it via email from Olay. |
