I think the SkinCeutical products, in general, are excellent. As for side-effects, I would think it would depend on whether or not you are sensitive to any of the ingredients as well as the products you may be combining with SC and how you are using them.
p.s. welcome to EDS, by the way ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

My skin is very sensitive but I am OK with SkinCeutical products. I also tried B5 gel and like it very much. |

I have heard such high praises for this brand. Is it really worth the money or is it mostly just hype? |

It is like with any brand some people will have good results with it and some not. For me - yes, it is worth the price. I had bad experience with many other lines and now I am very happy to use SkinCeutical products when I take a break from Cellcosmet and Valmont. Those are even more expensive ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

CE Ferulic fans -
what results do you get from this product, and why do you think it's better than plain l-ascorbic acid serums?
I have just ordered the CE Ferulic and look forward to trying it. I do have a history with l-ascorbic acid (as in CE Ferulic) and clogged pores, but keep my fingers crossed. |

Septembergirl, the CEF, for me, helped lighten my freckles. I think they recommend the AOX for people who have pore trouble, or it could be people prone to acne. Sorry, I can't remember which it is. |

Thank you. I don't have pore trouble until I apply l-ascorbic serums on my face. Lately, I have begun to apply non-acid vitamin C serum around my nose and l-ascorbic acid in the rest of my face. It works very well to keep the pores in the nose area unclogged.
I just noticed a brand new Skinceuticals serum, Skinceuticals Phloretin CF, that is a close relative to the CE Ferulic. It was launched on the 1st of June and is combining 2 % phloretin, 10 % l-ascorbic acid and 0.5 % ferulic acid. Phloretin is apparently a newly-identified potent antioxidant.
Here's more information about the newcomer from the blog futurederm:

Have you considered the 302 C Boost or 302 Lightening Drops? They are both non-acid tetrahexyldecylascorbate.

Yes, the two are made for each other, so to speak. Apply the vitamin C serum, wait for 15 minutes, then apply the vitamin B5 gel. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

The directions say to apply a thin layer to the entire face, neck, and chest, avoiding eye area. Allow 3-5 minutes before applying additional products. |

This one interests me too.

Phloretin CF™ represents a new class of preventive and corrective topical antioxidant treatment. After five years of extensive research, SkinCeuticals developed this patent-pending breakthrough technology combining the newly-discovered, broad-range power of phloretin with vitamin C and ferulic acid in a biodiverse formulation to divide and conquer sources of damage at every level.
Phloretin CF™, a broad-spectrum treatment, protects against not only free radicals, but the range of other reactive molecules known to cause damage and DNA mutations among the integral cell types. In addition, it corrects existing damage by stimulating the synthesis of essential proteins and fibers and accelerating cell turnover. The result — a strengthened support structure on the inside and a more youthful, firm, radiant appearance on the outside.
Due to the unique formulation of Phloretin CF, Federal Air Safety regulations indicate that orders can only ship via ground shipping and can not be made to Alaska and Hawaii.

I wonder what's in it that prevents it from shipping by air! ![Shock](images/smiles/shock.gif) |

I think it's just a marketing trick. Well, I am unsure whether it works. Why would people want to apply something to their skin that is possibly at risk of exploding in air mail?
Re waiting times -
I follow the advice in the long EDS-thread about product application and waiting times, and let any C serum absorb for at least 15 minutes before applying the next product. |

Wanted to bring this thread up again, as I just read on Futurederm that she combines the 2 (CEF and Phloretin CF) with great results. I thought this was a wonderful idea and may help those of us with hyperpigmentation even more! |

Apparently the SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic is best suited for normal to dry skin, whereas the Phloretin CF is designed for oilier skin types. I thought it was extravagant to apply one of them on top of the other, but it will surely make a potent vit C combination. |

Please keep us posted about your results. I will soon begin using Skinceuticals CEF. If the combination of the two serums really is a winning team, I might be extravagant, too. ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |
