Hi all,
I have heard so much raving about obagi products... I really would like to find out more about it's effects though. Is obagi ok for sensitive skin? And how long does the redness and peeling go on for? I don't really have acne, just regular skin with whiteheads and blackheads, thinking to try out obagi, coz I hate those comedones stuff. anyone using obagi rite now? how's the effects?

My mother is currently in her 4th month on Obagi, and it has done wonders for her skin. She was miserable for the first 3 months, though, because that's when all of the redness and peeling were peaking. Obagi is best for those with sundamage and texture issues. I don't know how well it works just for acne, however. It's pretty rough on the skin, and it will *definitely* get worse before it gets better. My esthetician gave her some cortisone lotion to help ease the skin distress substantially, so if you try it and find it unbearable, you can try to get ahold of some.

But seriously, your face stands a chance of looking like a dehydrated tomato for a good week or so, so make-up will be your extra-special best friend. Smile It *does* work if you can just stick with it over the first few months.

I'd highly recommend avoiding the Obagi Blue Peel like a rabid weasel. I've heard horror stories about how harsh it is unless you are really, really trying to get rid of serious blemishes, age marks, and general damage.

The Obagi "C-Effectives" eye serum is fantastic, from everyone I've heard of using it.

*I'm editing this because I forgot to add that using Dermalogica's Microfoliant or something else may be better suited to get rid of comedones. Obagi is pretty hardcore and it may be too drastic for what your aims are*

I use Obagi producst w/ Tretonoin, and love it bigtime. It suits for all types of skin. My dermatologist recommended this product to me coz I'm getting pimples. I have been using this product since April and my skin is back to normal agian. It so smooth that i dont even put make up to hide blemishes coz it evens out the dark spot cuase by pimples. Also, make sure to use the Obagi Sun Block too. The only thing thou is the product is expensive. Sad

Cefindre,
You might want to check out the Obagi Clenziderm products. This line deals more with acneic skin.

ETA: Just realized that the original post is from 2004!! Sorry!

I think it depends on skin type. Skin care is really case by case. Get some samples to try may be a good start.
