For years now I've been using a salicylic acid daily scrub and a sensitive skin moisturizer on my face, and it has kept my skin completely clear and great-looking. Within the past week, however, the scrub has been really tearing my skin up, mostly on my forehead and under my cheeks. I have this terrible reddish rash-looking thing going on in those areas, and my skin is peeling, despite the scrub. I'm also noticing that my scalp is peeling a little more than usual. A few large headless pimples showed up out of nowhere right below my lower lip yesterday. Today I tried Estee Lauder's Balancing Lotion but I'm not so sure it did anything different than my other moisturizer. I'm fairly positive I have dry skin because my face gets tight if I don't moisturize.
Help! |

I thought you have some good products to share coz 13 is so young so good:)
just kidding.
For your cases, you may try Avene spring water which can help you calm down your skin.
Pure Germany Chamomile water also helps, but it's not easy to get.
Hope this helps. |

I got that reaction too when I used BHA exfoliants... really weird... I think it's an allergic reaction. It might be an allergic reaction for you too, because allergic reactions can develop at any time |

hi, i think the above poster is right - it sounds like an allergic reaction, and they can just pop up when ever they feel like it. this has happened to me, even after i have been using a product for months.
you need to stop using everything on your skin right now, to help it calm down, and take an over the counter antihistamine. you also might find that an over the counter cortisone cream will make the rash go away. just use it lightly for a few days.
then very slowly start adding products back in - but test them first on the corner of your jaw. leave the area over night, and then see in the morning if you have a reaction.
it might not even be the scrub - it could be something else.
once you know what it is, you can avoid it, so don't worry - the reaction will come down! i know from experience!
good luck. |
