I recently purchased the Shiseido cleansing brush.
It is the softest brush I've ever seen in my life! I can't put into words how soft it is. The bristles are in little clumps and spaced out, with soft pink (rubber?)massaging bristles. The brush itself is a pretty pearlised colour, and it comes with a little stand for the bristles to sit on when it is drying, and it also has a hole for a hook.
It is designed to be used with a foaming face cleanser - meaning that you only need the titchiest tiniest little bit of cleanser to effectively clean your whole face. You massage it into the skin and it just feels absolutely divine. It encourages circulation and it leaves your face looking smooth and oh so soft.
I'm not using a foaming face cleanser atm, so I apply my MD Formulations cleanser with my hands, leave it for a few mins as a teatment, then add a smidgen of warm water to the brush, and massage the cleanser into my face, using small circular motions. I leave it for a moment and then rinse.
I strongly recommend this brush. It is truly lovely and will increase the effectiveness of any cleanser, particularly a foaming one. |

Hey Asrai,
May I ask where you bought this brush and how much it cost? Have you used any other face brushes before? I had one (I think it might have been a Body Shop one) before but in the end I decided that it was too rough.

Hi Mabsy,
I bought it from David Jones in Chadstone, when I was in Melbourne. I'm sure that other David Jones stores would have it too. It was around $35 or $40(AUD). Expensive for a cleansing brush, but its just so lovely.
I've used other cleansing brushes, but honestly, none come even close. If you can imagine how soft it is... um.. if you imagine the softness of a baby's hair brush.. . but 10000 times softer. That was a fairly useless description I know.. but you don't feel the bristles, just a lovely soft massage.
It has been reviewed well on MUA as well, I noticed.
ETA: Oh, and the thing that made it even better.. when I bought it, the lovely Shiseido SA gave me a complimentary hand treatment and hand massage which was absolutely blissful.

Hi, Asrai:
I have never tried to use a face cleaning brush when washing my face. It seems that you use it on a regualr basis, I would like to know, is it important to use the cleaning brush? Can you share some tips with us? I may need to consider getting one : ) thanks~ |

Asrai,
Another great find from you Hurray!
I think I saw this one when I visited Shiseido counter with my mom not long ago and may be mom really owns one. I should ask her to let me try. She also has a body scrubber from Shiseido to be used with the body massaging cream. I used it on my tummy and my thighs and I just giggled the whole time, it's a real tickle. Shiseido makes very good tools. I also adore their eye curlers and silk buffs.
Just off topic a little, I found that " Free Range Chicken Poop Lip Balm" ( thanks for you tips) and I knew right away what to give to my "rotten" cousin on his birthday...hee! hee!:P:P:P |

Thanks Asrai,
Cool! I have a gift voucher for Myer so I'll see if they have it there at the Shiseido counters. If not I'll go check out DJs. I had a look at the MUA reviews and I REALLY want to try this now!

I love this brush-- I just want to add that it's also great for dry brushing the face. |

I got mine from a SDM boutique that sells Shiseido. I think I paid around $21. cdn.
I don't use it that often as I prefer a clean micro fibre (or even just a regular wash cloth) to gently exfoliate and get the last traces of cleanser off the hairline, etc.
BTW I do like the Shiseido cotton ($8.00 cdn package) and the Benefiance eye cream. |

Oh yeah, these are both great products - love the cotton, now I'm spoiled and can't use anything else. |

You know I did not really believe there is a difference in cotton products until I tried the Shiseido cotton. I seem to use less product with these pads. Some people cut them in half. Sometimes I just rip into two pieces if I don't need the whole pad. |

Oh my goodness thanks for reviewing this brush. I used to have one *ages* ago and yes, it is very soft and just lovely to use on the face. I am going to have to get one just to see if they are still the same. Wow, a trip down memory lane! Twenty years ago I couldn't live without this little brush, yet I had totally forgotten about it. Thanks |
