This review is for the bottle of Red Gold Corrector Plus. I got this from Sally (Canada) and paid $6.49 cdn (Pro price) for a small bottle. Bottle size is .25 fl or 7ml. It also comes in a tiny pillow twist off top packet. I recommend the bottle as it has instructions; contains 20 applications and has a cap so you can save it for another use.
I first used about 8 drops in a moisturizing conditioner and left it on for about ten minutes under a heat pack. I saw a slight difference. Very impressive as I did not use that much and when I use a product like Shimmer Lights it takes several applications to see a difference.
Next I tried it with my Clariol Natural Instincts colour in Light Blonde (nuetral). Not a huge colour difference (from the hair colour) but my hair was shiny, and toned down. I used about 15 drops per oz of colour for a total of 30 drops (as per package instructions) My colour in the bottle was very scary purple. I will continue to use this and will repurchase when needed. It does tone down the brassiness or "gold". If you truly have orange hair or unwanted red you really need a professional for colour correction; not a purple toner. Overall more effective than the Shimmer Lights purple shampoo and conditioners for brassiness.
This product can be added to a conditioner OR shampoo OR into a hair colour product (semi, demi or permanent)
I still have my bottle. The only reason I stopped using it is because I finally found a hairdresser that does not give me brassy highlights! I will not hesitate to use it if I look brassy! |
