I have to wash my hands between every patient, and thensome at work. I was using latex gloves until I got horrible rashes from them. Come to think of it, things in the past point to latex sensitivity. Anyway, now I wear vinyl or nitrile gloves. But they are still dried out. I've been using a jar of Burt's Bees banana hand cream I had lying around, and it doesn't fix the issue. Just a temporary band-aid.
Right now I can't spend a lot of money, but maybe in a few months I can.
Any ideas? DIY, DS, or HE are welcome.
Thanks in advance! |

USP modified lanolin overnight with cotton gloves. This stuff is like tar! It is easily found at the drugstores. Lansinoh is a well-known brand. |

I feel your pain...(Or shall I say I did before I retired.. )
Whip up an easy DIY cream, that you can keep in your pocket, and apply throughout the day..
Serious Protect & Nourish Hand Cream
(Nurses will adore this!)
4oz (You can decant what you need in an easy to carry 1oz container!)
1 oz CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion
1 1/2 oz Shea Butter (get the real one that you have to nuke in the microwave to liquify)
1/2 oz Aquaphor
1/2 oz Jojoba Oil
1/2 oz Macadamia Nut Oil
2 1/2 ml/cc Chamomile Extract (roughly 2%) (This is a water soluble extract, but mixes beautifully into the CeraVe, so no additional water is needed.)
Liquify the shea butter on medium power carefully, then just add/stir everything together. (Stir the chamomile into the CV 1st) |

Thanks! Sounds great, I will try after the move.
I've never heard of chamomile extract, I suppose I can find it online though. |

I would like to suggest a couple of drugstore options.
Glymed in the green tube (under $5.00)
Nuetrogena Norwegian - tube (under $5.00)
I also buy Avon's Moisture Therapy. Mini tubes will go on sale for .99 ea Cdn. (not drugstore technically; but cheap.) |
