Ladies,
I need your help... Again
I'm using Retin-A 0.05% and found it very irritating... My skin is flaking almost daily... I have no time to go to my family doctor for the new prescription right now, so I thought - maybe there is a way to reduce the concentration without causing any problems... I had no irritation/flaking problems at all, when I used 0.025%
Thanks in advance!!!! |

Tanya the flaking etc isn't a bad sign, but I can understand its causing you concern. Two things I do. I exfoliate with a microfibre cloth. Also half an hour after applying it, I use a heavy moisturiser/oil and that seems to prevent the flakiness for me.... but many people actually want the flaking to prove its working. Its not necessary though. So if you have 0.25% left - can you just switch back to that instead? |

Thanks for reply, TheresaMary!
Unfortunately, I don't have 0.025 anymore.
But I will try to apply heavy moisturizer as you advised.
Thanks again! |

I also have a lot of trouble with the flakies. I am using it every third day and it still doesn't help. I am trying now to mix a dab plus moisturizer and see if that helps. |

Maybe you'd buffer the 0.05% by layering it on a moisturizer. |

The less nights you use retin a the more you your skin will peel.Your skin has to get use to it over time. If you are putting it on at night, wait 30 mins at least before moisturizer so the retin a has a chance to penetrate, if not the retin a is negated by the moisturizer. And don't forget to use S.S. |

Leggy 61, does it mean that Retin A has to be applied daily? |

RS, yes thats what I do and it lets your skin get use to it,and for some reason after a while you peel less.It seems if you use it 2 or 3 nights a week you just prolong the peeling. |
