can you please sign this petition??
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/42/help-stop-the-hunting-of-feral-cats-in-nj
Anyone can sign but it is about New Jersey.
For those that dont know feral cats ARE not disease ridden, wild and nasty creatures. I care for 10 of them and they are actually very loving, intelligent and emotional creatures - they just were born in the wild.
For more info you can check here: http://www.alleycat.org
THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!! This means everything to me and if this law passes... it will be devastating!!! |

I'm appalled, and have duly signed the petition. As one of the previous signees pointed out, it would be far better to put a neutering scheme in place. The proposal is truly barbaric! |

I think your referring to my post. I went off a little - but Im very angry and disgusted!
I know not everyone can afford to neuter... (and Im not going to go off here). But I was referring to those that are completely irresponsible and careless - those that are the TRUE cause of feral and stray cats.
THANKS BY THE WAY!!!!! |

Done! I have a number of rescues myself, plus I am paying to neuter my neighbor's cat once it has it's kittens. I offered to do it BEFORE it got pregnant, but they declined...maybe they thought it had taken an abstinence vow? |

God Bless YOU Bethany!!! That's so awesome of you!!!
We have a discounted spay/neuter clinic in my county (which we are very lucky to have). Many dont take advantage of it though.... so we have MANY feral colonies. And others are left with the responsibility to get the now wild cats to the clinic.
So if this law goes into effect... not only is it animal cruelty - its truly a hard slap in the face to all who have spent their time, energy and money to care for them - not to mention being emotionally attached. |

I signed this petition. I'm always willing to help out animals any way I can. I know in a lot of areas they catch wild cats and then fix them. I think they should do this instead of hunting them.
I'll never understand how one can be cruel to animals.
One of my favorite quotes: “He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.” Immanuel Kant |

Don't worry about going off a little - I don't blame you. I'm disgusted about it, too.
Thanks so much for bringing it to our attention. As for the number not going up on the petition count, maybe it takes a little while to catch up with the current amount? Or perhaps people are accidentally not going through all of the stages - there are 3 or 4 (I think) before the confirmation. |

I sent the link to four friends. Between us we have saved over ten stray and feral cats, finding homes for them. This is unbelievable. At first I thought it was a joke. Hunting cats? And thank u=you for introducing me to the petition site. There is a really important one about a terribly abused dog. It could really use some support. |

The daily clicks is awesome! I am so glad that I could help. I signed a few other petitions while there, and plan to keep going back. Hope the kitty petition helps. It is really unbelievable that anyone came up with such an idea. |

Do you know if the cat is fixed? (if not - thats one of the best things you can do for him)
You may need to trap him to get him to a vet. Some counties have great discounts for neutering especially if they are feral.
I trapped 19 and they were all fixed for free thanks to my pro-feral county! The crazy thing is I live in Jersey - where they now what to SHOOT them..... |
