Does anyone make seperate oil based serums and water based serums depending on the actives solubility rather than worrying about finding a good base cream or worrying about emulsifiers etc?

If so what is a typical base to use as an oil serum? I think most of the serums I've come across are all water based?

Thanks!

Are you looking to add an oil soluble active into just oil? If so there are many choices depending on your skin type and needs. Smile

Yeah DUH! I guess I can just put them in straight oil.

Can you combine different oils or is it best just to stick with one.

GoW has a great resource listing the benefits of the different oils so I should be able to pick out some from there. Are there any to avoid that are highly pore clogging or anything like that?

Thanks!

Sure you can blend different oils for benefits of each, I mix oils all the time. Just do your homework on what oils go rancid quickly and buy small amounts at a time and refrigerate. Smile

mrslid,

GoW actually has oil samples where you can choose three based on your skin type. I just recently bought some that way, because I wanted small quantities. When I buy larger quantities, I can never use them up before they go bad.
