Hi! I formulated my body lotion but i noticed that it rubs off the skin (it doesn't get absorbed into the skin, it balls up and falls off the skin when i touch my skin after applying it on) when i try it on on my skin. Any suggestion on what i could do to remove this problem? Thanks! |

These were: water, carbopol ultrez 21 polymer, simusol 165, olive oil, and glycerin |

I'm not sure why you're bothering with stabilizers and emulsifiers and thickeners when virgin olive oil will do probably a better job on its own anyway. It's not necessary to complicate it.
.
Here is a thread that has a lot of recipes of ingredients that have been tested together:

Or do a Goggle search..
everything is not meant to be combined together. |

Thank you. Pardon me, the product i actually want to make is a moisturizer, which is a thicker version of lotion, both of which are usually made the same way. I was supposed to make an emulsion with the oil, water and emulsifier and then to thicken this up with the thickener and the glycerin was just to add some humectant to it, according to the usual procedure for making creams. Only the product turned out to be "balling" off the skin in this manner so i was wondering if there is anything i didn't add or didn't add enough of. I can see on some of the informaion from the link you sent is about making lotion from an already made moisturizer whereas what i acually want to achieve is to make moisturizer from scratch |

If its more thicker means difficult to absorb in skin |

It should be the problem of moisturizer. Maybe there is a mistake in the proportion of water and oil in the formula. In fact, direct application of olive oil or tea oil on the body is a good moisturizing effect. And almond oil. It's great. |
