Hello everybody
I've only just joined the forum so I'm sorry if this subject has come up recently. If any one could offer some advice, that would b great thank you.
The problem I have started 6 months ago I began getting eyebags under my eyes, they're getting worse all the time. I now have some blue veins which have come up under my eyes as well. I have been very depressed because of this.
There is nothing medically wrong with me, as have been checked by doc.
I would b very greatful 4 all advice, whether it is eyecreams, plastic surgery, etc. If someone has a particular surgeon they have had a good result with, I would b so glad of a personal recommendation. Thanking u all 4 reading this. Xx ps I am in early 30s and from England xx |

Hey butterfliesandflowers ,
Welcome to EDS, this is a very active forum and you will learn a lot...as well as spend a lot in no time. I empathize with your eye bag situation. Many of us here have tried many products for under eye treatment. I have discovered Easy Eye Solutions and it has really improved my eyebags instantly and long term. My picture is on this thread and you need to go to the fourth page and my pictures are the second set posted there. Before using these products I had considered surgery...I now wouldn't dream of it

In TCM, eye bags are due to spleen weakening. You can try to eat lotus seeds, Chinese yam and barley each morning.
Try to eat slower and chose the food which is easy to digest.
(Please ignore if you don't trust TCM) |

There are lots of good reviews on Easy Eye solution (Toby gave you the link).
Sadly, it did not work for me
I don't have bags but have veins, dark circles so my tear through is quite visible.
None of the surgical options currently available seem attractive to me. I want to try Restylane for the tear through but have not found anyone I consider experienced enough on tear throughs. |

There are so many different versions of TCM out there, and there has been much written on the subject, that I think to label eye bags as being solely due to spleen weakening is unwise and silly. In TCM, you would never look at only an outward sympton, you would consider the health of the individual as a whole. When I go for accupuncture, they do a whole notetaking on what symptons you have, what your health, sleep, diet and lifestyle is like before even treating you - so to suggest that someones spleen is weak when in all reality it could be several other factors I think is unwise.
With TCM I think also its better to go to a qualified practitioner to get detailed advice, rather than follow a posters suggestions here (no matter how well intentioned).

Hi there. You sound a lot like me! I have what I call "rice paper skin". See through and painfully pale.
I wonder if something has happened to you in the past six months that could have effected your skin?
I developed large bags after being given a steroid shot for muscle pain. I was not told it could permanently thin the skin over my entire body! In two months I looked like I had aged ten to fifteen years. I am in my early thirties too, but always have passed for five to ten years younger. Not any more. Not only did I develop bags, but because the skin was thinned, the veins started to show through.
I was absolutely gutted and did not know what to do, and then I saw the EES thread. I bought the EES tuck that Toby told you about, and love it.
Honestly butterfliesandflowers, my eyes are almost back to the way they were before the steroid shot. I have to use a concealer under the tuck because of the veins, but the maker of the tuck told me in an email that taking Vit K every day might help diminish them over time. I have started to take it and am keeping my fingers crossed. I am also trying some other things to help the situation in the long run. I would really urge you to try some of these things before surgery - I felt as you do, I think, and now I am feeling so much better.
Hope this is useful to you

Hi Al,
Thank u so much 4 ur reply. Yes I have exactly that rice paper skin! I'm sorry 2 hear u have had probs after the steroid shot but so pleased the ees eye tuck has worked 4 u. I have a very bad viral infection 6 months ago so think it was this that brought it on. I have been waying up weather 2 purchase ees eye tuck and think you've swung it 4 me. So I will purchase n fingers crossed!
Thanks 4 the tip about the vit k. I take a multi vit which has that included but wondering now if I should take a higher dose.
Thank you so much 4 ur advice. If u find any other things that work I would b so greatful if u would let me know as it has affected my self esteem severly, thanks again xx |

i feel awful that you were so sick. I hope you are better now? I fully understand how badly this sort of thing can shake you - I stopped feeling pretty or even attractive quite a while ago. I think the tuck is a great idea - read the thread for ideas on how to make it work for you. It takes a bit of time to get the hang of it. I have started to take 100mcg of Vit K daily and have added Vit A caps and Omega 369. There are a few threads on supplements that help the skin, you might want to check them out. Perhaps in your case the damage is not permanent. I have heard of skin thinning due to some illness or insult to the system that healed over time. I was told it could take months or up to a year. Mine, sadly, seems permanent, but I keep hoping to nourish my body to the point that it can repair some of the damage. The tuck has helped me feel better about my appearance - only yesterday I wrote on the EES thread that I felt pretty for the first time in over a year, and it was because the tuck had made the bags so much better. They even seem better without the tuck on. I did have to struggle with it for a while, so if you do buy it and find you are frustrated, don't give up! There are many people on the EES thread with ingenious ideas that can help you figure it all out, and you could PM me if you thought I could help out.
A hug to you

I have the blue veins above one of my eyes. I never thought to do anything about them, but if Vit K supplement should help, I think I will try that. |
