in this article above, read the very last paragraph where he stipulates not to do this on Type IV skin.
here it is to quote:
Contraindications
Not for type IV, V and VI skin where pigmentation of the scars may occur
Anyone know if he has changed his mind about this? if it is now safe to dermaroll type IV, V and VI skin?? |

You see the same warnings about acid peels -- sometimes those cause hyper or hypopigmentation. It seems to happen more often with darker skin. I am a Type IV (I assume) never had any problems with anything, but maybe you want to try a test patch in an inconspicuous place...inside of the arm? |

Oh yes, I dermaroll (sorry, I failed to mention that!) I use a 1 mm about once a week, and .5 whenever I feel like it. My skin in general is pretty nonreactive, but all in all the dermarolling has been good for it. Or maybe it's the CPs I roll in. |

what r u using the dermarolling for?
i was thinking that maybe me doing it every week, may disrupt new collagen growth?
and yes, I will also be using a 0.8mm dermastamp
your thoughts would be appreciated!
thank you
