Hi. I have rosacea and had 2 broken capillaries zapped by an electric needle 3.5 weeks ago at the dermatologist's office.
It is still not healed and it's not getting better. The skin is smooth/even but there is a red mark where she zapped the area and it is so noticeable. Is this part of the healing process or did something go wrong and now this is how it's going to stay???

What should I do?

Have you gone back to the derm for them to look at it?

No, but I am going to call them tomorrow to see if I can come in sometime this week.
I didn't particularly like this derm and it's the first time I've been to her...

What should I say? Should I be upset or give them the benefit of the doubt?

Hi mary,
Good luck when phoning 2mo. I would just tell her the situation, I'm sure she will say 2 come back in and c her. If she doesn't reassure u or doesn't offer u a free appointment to check the area, then u have every right to get upset, hopefully it wont come 2 that tho. Hope it all goes well, butterflies xx

Ugh...it figures you would need to go back since you didn't like her. Sad

I definitely wouldn't act upset, since you don't know it if it is an issue or not. Just tell them that you are a bit concerned since it's not healing in the manner that you expected. She'll either call you back or ask you to come in.

Hang in there, and keep us posted!

I just had some facial spider veins removed in the same fashion, about 2.5 weeks ago. Like you, there is still a red spot in quite a few places that weren't as quick to heal as they were in other places he zapped.

I've come to see that in every case, where I still have a red mark, there is a plug in that pore near the vein that is keeping it from healing. If I pop out the plug, it heals up.

I don't know if that will help you (mine were around and on my nose, mostly) but thought it might.

Hello again...
Still having trouble myself with a few of those spots on my nose...the ones I haven't been able to clear the plugs out of.

Yesterday, I began something new to try to make them a little better....manuka honey.

I left a nice coat of honey over the spots for a long time. I'm sure that alone would have helped...but I also decided to try, on top of that...ultrasound. I used aloe gel mixed with a little pearl powder in it, put the aloe mixture on top of the honey, and used the ultrasound to drive it all in.

Then I left it all on my face for a while, and when I washed it off an hour or so later, I was /really/ /amazed/ at how much those spots had healed up, in such a short amount of time.

While you may not have an ultrasound unit, the manuka honey is easy enough to get and will probably work great without the ultrasound treatment on top. I'm really pleased with this altogether, and did it again today with even better healing results after. It's like the honey is really drawing out the issues.
