hi all,
sorry this is my first post so if i get anything wrong then sorry in advance
i have using retin a for about a month now but in the past week or so i have had a dry patch on my top lip. it isnt lumpy its just really dry and flakey and feels like i have put numbing cream in it, it also seems to be spreading. its really starting to annoy me, do you think its from using the reitn a even though im avioding my lips? and is there anything that will cure it? i know its not a cold sore as i dont get them and it hasnt gone yellow and crusty.
any help would be great thanks xx |

Hi, and welcome to EDS!
I am wondering if the Retin A may be rubbing off onto that area when you go to bed.
Have you tried putting moisturizer on that area (as a protective layer), and then applying the Retin A to the rest of your face as usual? |

I did have same experience. When I started Retin-A routine last Nov, my lips were dry & flakey everyday; though I avoided the area around the mouth & the chin.
I had to use lip balm every few hours; before using Retin-A, I had not bought any lip balm in my life.
Not until 2 months ago could I stop using any lip balm. |

I'm taking isotretinoin and at the beginning my lips were crazy dry.
The only thing that helped was Aquaphor. It's also nice because all the moisture plumps your lips so if you put it at night you'll wake up beautiful, plump lips |
