(If this has already been asked, sorry. Ive been searching to no avail thus far)
Are there many out there who prefer to avoid things like too many chemicals, parabens, fragrance and etc?
What is your skincare routine?
What kind of sunscreens do you use?
If you wear makeup, what brands do you prefer?
Thanks |

reverie,
i've avoided all lab created substances in facial care for 40 years.
i do ocm(oil cleansing method) most days with a combo ofcastor and jojoba oils
exfoliate with a microfiber cloth or other manual exfoliation
use diy serums with botanical and regenerative eo's (essential oils)
use unrefined shea butter
use Lotus Moon sage sun protective cream(sp 15)in the summer but only if i'm going to be outside for a significant amount of time. |

I just went to reorder my lotus moon sun protector cream and found out that it is reformulated for SP20...so i don't know how my skin will respond to this new formulation (both SP's use a potassium sorbate made from grapefruit..which is still lab made..that's why i don't use it that often..but usually just rely on the natural SP5 in many of the botanicals i use..plus a large brimmed hat) |

Hi,
I started a thread a long time ago Organic Skin Care +..... there are many links to certified organic skin care products, the + is because there are also links on the first site to every thing green and organic.

I particularly avoid fragrances in anything that goes on my face. I find that the older I get, the more sensitive I am to scents and just can't tolerate them any more - I get watery eyes and sniffly if the scent it too strong.
I've also steered away from some products that have extremely long list of artificial sounding ingredients. If I can't recognize most of the ingredients, it just doesn't go on my face! |

I use brown sugar to scrub my face, and yogurt and honey masks. I make my own toner and try to use natural cleansers. I use oatmeal to scrub my body and on my face as a cleanser when it is irritated. I have never been able to find a sunscreen that doesn't give me hives or rashes, but so far the sample of Lavera 30 spf (for babies!) is working for me (knock on wood!). I make my own shampoos too, but haven't been able to figure out a good conditioner for my fine, frizzy hair. |
