I really like the effect of NARS Orgasm blush, but I am trying to economize and would like to purchase a less expensive brand. Has anyone found a drugstore blush with a similar color?

I haven't tried NARS, but I love Aveda Petal Essence blush, in Apricot Glow.

Rimmel's Santa Rose is the closest you can get. I love it and I see no point of paying more for Nars. Rolling Eyes

At one time, I found an exact match at Everyday Minerals. I've been reading about some product changes, (maybe ingred?)& hadn't been to the site in a while. I'm thinking the color was siesta, but not sure. I just checked back & they do have that color, not sure if it's the same ingred's though.

Milani's Luminous is very similar (You can get that in CVS). If you live in the States, the mineral makeup company Aromaleigh has two pure rouges called "Glazed" and "Nectar" that, when mixed, are a great dupe as well. You can get samples for pretty cheap there!

Pure Luxe cosmetics (mineral makeup) has a color called "Nymph" that is supposed to be a match. Its very pretty and very naturally glow-y and gives a pretty flushed look to the skin.

Rimmel Pink Rose or Santa Rose are both similar but without the shimmer and Miani Luminous is practically exactly the same.

Does anyone have the ingredient list for Rimmel's blush? My skin is really sensitive, so I really want to make sure what's in it, before I begin purchasing one. TIA!

I have this too, as well as the Nars, and when I hold them next to each other they are almostly exactly the same. The difference is on the skin. Nars has a golden shimmer on the skin, and also is more finely milled than the Rimmel. The rimmel is more pink where the Nars is more peachy. I bought the Nars because I wanted to see why everyone loved it so much. It's nice, but I wouldn't say it's worlds better than something cheaper.

Thanks for the comparison, as I've been eyeing this particular blush for ages everytime I walk into Sephora. I tried a little on my my hand and didn't see too much color but rather shimmer and just a pinch of color.

Does anyone have a recommendation that's close in the shimmer dept as the Nars? I'd like something with a little shimmer rather than something with just color and matte.

I posted this in the other thread, but this is me wearing just concealor, mineral veil, and Nars Orgasm blush:

Image

I'm wearing it a little heavier here than I normally do, since I wasn't wearing any other makeup. I find the color is buildable with Orgasm.

I second EM in Siesta. Great peach color!
And inexpensive too!!!

I bought it because I got a Sephora gift certificate for my birthday! I had wanted to try it before that but, yeah, just couldn't reason paying $25 for blush. But, you know, it lasts a long time. I've been using it practically everyday since last October and I've barely made a dent. Think of it as an investment! Wink

yeah I figured, I have one from MAC that I use a lot and barely made a dent in it also. I did like the way it looked on my hand so I may just buy it..what the heck it'll be nice to have something different for the spring.

I totally agree. I've had my Nars Orgasm for about a year (this is my third one already). I've been using it nearly everyday and it's still more or less half full. It might seem quite expensive, but the color is so intense and pigmented that you only need to use so little. And it really lasts a long time. I've tried Rimmel Santa Rose years ago and I remember not being that impressed. I thought the shimmers in it weren't fine enough and the color was too pinkish on my Asian skin.

I guess I never thought Rimmel's Santa Rose lack shimmer because I usually set my face with some shimmer powder to hightlight my nose and cheekbones.

Sorry that I don't have the ingredient list so don't know if its okay for sensitive skin.

Lynn,

Thanks for pointing that out to me. Since I'm asian also I can't do the pink/too rosey tones next to my skin tone.

Hi

If you do find an alternative, please let us know. Anything is better than having to go up to a male sales assistant with a needy expression and asking for an orgasm! Wink

I do have a Smashbox fusion eye shadow called Smashing Sequence, that also doubles as a highlighter and blush. If you squirl all of them together and apply as a blush the colour is similar to the Nars one. Not sure if it's cheaper or not though.

Aveda's Petal Essence Cheek Color in Apricot Glow is a nice peachy/pink color with a golden shimmer which look gorgeous on my asian skin. It's only $14, but the case is sold seperately.

I find that a lot of beautiful or popular pink blushes are cool toned and they look almost dirty (not sure if it's the right word to describe it) on my cheeks Sad I bought Nars Angelika and when used alone it's not very flattering on me, so I mix it with Taj Mahal. Both shades have to be applied very very lightly though as they're so pigmented. Otherwise I end up looking like a clown. I also find Nars Deep Throat is very flattering on medium to dark Asian skin.
