Someone I know tells me that pc screens do not emit any UV rays however I have noticed that when I have been using the pc for long periods of time w/out my usual high UVA/B factor protection, my sun spots get much worse. There isn't any other light that could be the culprit as it's usually night time.
Can anyone shed some light ( ) on whether a laptop screen:
1) emits any uv rays, however low
2) emits fluorescent light that can damage skin and worsen sun spots.
Anyone with scientific knowledge of this?
Thanks. |

Forgot to ask if any other ladies have noticed that sun spots/discoloration is worse after sitting in front of a computer?
It may sound crazy but I truly think the light from it is making them worse.
I may buy a burqa and wear sunglasses over the top. |

CRTs do emit some UV rays but they're not considered to be harmful enough. Anyway, if that was the case I'd look like George Hamilton by now! |

This is one of the few things I'm not an expert on and should be because I am on the computer 24/7. I have no life and no friends!!!! So if anyone should be covered with age spots it should be me. Oh, darn, I am!!!!! HAHAHA. No, I don't think that the computer would cause damage but you should wear sunscreen all the time, day and night, even when you sleep just to be sure. |

OK I am not getting my books out but as a computer tech NO just NO they don't give off that amount of uv light to cause issues with your skin, and that's the old CRT type the newer flat screens even less and that includes laptops, they all have the thin screens. |
