I'm a big fan of the Dermalogica Stress Relief Oil under a body moisturiser. Please remember that the oils should, ideally, be applied to damp skin in order to be the most effective.
I tend to use a combo of oil/cream at night (Dermalogica and MMU respectively, at the moment), but in the mornings I just use one of those spray on ones (Nivea makes one, as does L'Oreal, and probably quite a few others) on damp skin after just getting out of the shower. |

Hi Christine, great name!
The best thing that you can do right now for dry winter skin is to exfoliate, it will get rid of the dry skin and leave your skin soft and smooth, then follow with a body lotion. You don't have to buy a body scrub just use products out of your larder. Use sugar or salt and mix with a vegetable oil. I prefer to use caster sugar and I follow that with sweet almond oil, make sure that its too oily or you'll slip in the bath or shower, apply to damp skin and follow with your usual shower gel. Your skin should feel moist after so a light lotion will. Keep exfoliating every day until your skin is in great condition and then 2 to 3 times a week. If you don't want to make your own, Gatineau do a great scrub also Philosophy's gingerbread man is wonderful or Origins ginger scrub.
Hope the advice helps.
Regards
Christine

My favorite body lotions: All lotions from the BodyDeli!!! Homemadesuds.com sells natural lotions with Emu oil. They are absolutely delightful and the price is right! My legs get so bad in the winter that they crust and flake if I don't use lotion. I am new to the BodyDeli but last year I used HMS's lotions and they were awesome.
Sorry, just noticed your location. The BodyDeli only ships within the US. |

Thank you Mabsy, winnie and Happy All the info is so helpful. {i never know that i should put the oil on the damp skin!, i always put it on dry skin} I really interested in those spray on lotion since there is not much time in the morning to put oil+cream ^^... Thx for a good info!
Happy, i never tried to make those scurb by myself.. where can i find the almond oil? and the vegetable oil, do u mean the one for cooking? I have tried using banana mix with honey before, and it was ok ~ my skin felt smoother. One more question about scrub, what is the different that the scurb and exfoliate make? Which one do u guys prefer?
Winnie. . unfortunately I cant find the BodyDeli in Canada but thanks for the comment .. My legs now crust and flake also, eventhough i use the lotion~~ ><". I hope there are more sites that do the shipping to Canada coz there arent many products here as in US... and if there is one, it's overpriced. T_T |

Exfoliate regularly will definitely help better absorption of the lotion...
my current fav are the Crabtree & Evelyn - Jojoba Oil Body Lotion/Cream and Gardener's hand cream (which I apply both onto the hands and body) or any other flavors... you should be able to find the stores in most good size mall...
The second fav is the Jurlique hand cream (rose/lavender)... besides applying it on my hands, I also use it over the elbows, knees, heels on top of the body lotion...
What I regularly do for my feet is that I soak them in warm/hot water before bed and slather good old Vaseline all over and put socks on over night... no cracks and baby smooth feet the next day!! |

THE BEST BODY CREAM IS SOTHYS - SECRET BODY BALM. BUT IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE. YOU SHOUD TRY IT. IT IS REALLY GOOD FOR THE WHOLE BODY INCLUDING THE BUST. IT MAKES YOUR BODY BECAME FIRMER AND SOFT.

Hi Christine,
You can buy sweet almond oil in your local chemist / pharmacy or herberlist and yes you can use a prue vegetable oil that you use for cooking, virgin olive oil, sesame seed oil, etc. are viable options, I refer to use the sweet almond oil because of the skin care benefits.
A scrub and exfoliate are the same thing, it will get rid of the dead skin layer where prohibits your Moisturizer penetrating your epidermis, it effectively stops your moisturizer sitting on the dead layer; your skin will feel smooth, soft and will actually glow if you use the right product.

Christine,
You'd have to call up the spa and double check on this one. I do remember them saying a while back that they don't keep every single product in the spa. I'm not sure which lines they do stock or if you'd be able to arrange a pick up from there if you gave them some notice.
