As we discusssed before in another post saying that we shouldn't use sunscreens that contain Vit A in it. But I found out that for some, their beloved and trusted PTR powder mineral sunscreen and Juice Beauty mineral sunscreen both contain this Vit A in it.
So my question is ....is it still safe to use now or it should be OK cuz otherwise these 2 well known companies won't include it in their sunscreens? Perhaps their % of Vit A is compatible with the sun? I really don't know
PS: I can't seem to find the previous post that discussed Vit A in sunscreen. If someone can link me back to it, it would be great! Thanks! |

I remember the thread but not it's name Stardusty, sorry!
I think there was some question as to weather it is actually harmful or beneficial during sun exposure? Hopefully somebody will find the thread! |

You're welcome. I tried the Juice Beauty sunscreen some years ago and freckled right through it. It did not offer enough protection for me. Not sure if that is the type of damage you are talking about? Some people love it though. |

Well perhaps... I'm not sure if it's cuz the Juice Beauty sunscreen is not protecting enough cuz it only uses Titanium Dioxide or it's the Vit A and all those fruit juice |

LOL I did the same for a while and finally gave up on trying to find it!
I believe the Titanium Dioxide is actually a good part of a physical ss so I wouldn't think that causes any problems. Maybe the SPF just isn't enough for the sun exposure in Florida? |

That one I could not tell you. I just finished up my Fallene, which is predominantly titanum dioxide with a small amount of zinc thrown in and that worked great. I do not know the % of the titanium dioxide in the JB product, which makes a difference. |

That's a very good point about the % in there. |

Yes I wonder too. The Juice Beauty sunscreen in shade Ivory contains 20% ZnO and no vitamin A. Still worried about the apple and grape juices though, won't they cause photo sensitivity? |
