Anyone have this done? What did you think? I hate having to wash mascara off and am thinking that this might be a good alternative.

Lily,

I used to have my lashes tinted all the time. Where I don't work in a salon anymore I don't have the luxury of all those FREE services. I liked the results but found it really doesn't last that long. They use a vegtable dye for the lashes. Like you, I hate putting eye makeup on all the time. For me it's because I wear glasses and it is hard for me to see what I am doing. I have contacts but prefer to wear glasses.

I have been using the Lamas Lash Masque for several months. It tints my lashes and gives them enough color that my eyes are somewhat enhanced. It doesn't rub off and is healthy for the lashes. Personally, I think it's just as good as having them tinted in the salon.Right now at the Lamas website (I believe) they are having 50% off.

Do you have that website address? I couldn't find anything looking up "Lamas" on google.

Winnie:

I went to order it. The product is $16.50 and then shipping (to Canada) is $16!!!! They don't give me any other shipping option. I'll call them on Monday and ask. Looks great though.

Check out Ebay: Canada shipping is cheaper. I saw it for 16.95. I believe the shipping is 6.50 US dollar.

lily, the shopping network in canada also sells lamas products...

They offer 2 for $44, shipping looks about $7 through canada post, within BC.

Lily - I had eye lash tinting done (with a blue-black tint) and it looked fabulous! I'm definitely going to go back and get it done again, together with the eyelash perm.

I also do use Lamas Lash Masque and I think it's a really good product. Bing in Australia I found the shipping ridiculous as well. I got mine fromwww.heavenlyskin.com ($14.40) and got charged about $5 for air-mail postage.

I love how my lashes look when they are tinted. I can't get it done down here so a friend of mine who is an aesthetician taught me to do it myself and gave me a tube of the blue black.
That Lamas product sounds great too.

Hi Lily,
I fully sympathise with you about the shipping costs - I live in Australia and it was going to cost about $35 (US) for just the postage - a real rip off.
I went on e bay and bought my Lamas Lip Enhancer (which arrrived today ) and the postage was about $7 - a bit more reasonable I thought.
Very Happy

I bought an eyelash tinting kit at Sallys Beauty Supply, and tinted my own lashes (no, I'm not an aesthetician!), but the results really weren't worth the effort. The dye they use now (at least in the U.S.) is pretty mild so your lashes only look good for a week or two and then you need to do it again, which probably isn't healthy even though the dye isn't as harsh as the stuff they used 10-15 years ago (which was outlawed in the U.S. for causing blindness).

So instead of tinting my lashes every 10-14 days, I just started using the Lamas Lash Masque and now I don't even bother with mascara anymore although I should confess that before I started using the Lamas, I got my lashes to grow super long and lush with a twice daily application of Talika Lipocils and Mavala Eyelite Doublelash, so I don't really need any lengthening or thickening from a traditional mascara, I only need a touch of darkening and the Lamas really fits the bill. I see the other ladies have given you alternatives to paying ungodly shipping costs by ordering directly from the Lamas website, so I'll just chime in to say that sometimes you can find Lamas' products at a health food store (I got mine at Whole Foods here in Austin)....

Thanks Carrie.

Can you tell me what those two products are all about? (Talika Lipocils and Mavala Eyelite Doublelash) And where I can get them?

Lily -

Mavala Eyelite Doublelash and Talika Lipocils are both eyelash conditioning treatments that actually promote eyelash growth (both in terms of length and fullness). You really only need to use one or the other, the only reason I used both simaltaneously is because I'm a greedy wench and wanted mega lashes, mega fast! At approx. $15US, Mavala is a lot cheaper than the Talika at $30US. You can order the Talika product fromwww.Sephora.com (please note: I highly recommend you purchase the EyeBROW version, rather than the Eyelash version. The formulas are the same, but the applicator in the eyebrow version makes it easier to apply to the base of your eyelashes) and you can get the Mavala from places likewww.WhatSheBuys.com orwww.metrobeauty.com.

For more info, here's the links to both products on MUA:

• Mavala Eyelite Doublelash: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemID=8611/double_lash/Mavala/Eyes/

• Talika Lipocils: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemID=9502/Lipocils/Talika_/Treatments_(Eye)/

Please note that it takes about a month of applying it twice daily before you will attain full results, although you will likely start seeing new "baby" lashes starting to sprout within the first 7-10 days! After that, you can cut back and apply it once per day or every other day to maintain your results.

HTH,
Carrie
