I've just seen this advertised recently at the Boots in-house beauty salon:

beautyCaRe System: INDIBA Care (UK) Ltd

Anyone heard of it/tried it? They say:

Quote:
The beautyCaRe System is part of a range of regenerative radio frequency equipment developed and patented by INDIBA which uses high frequency currents to raise the internal temperature of human tissue (deep diathermy).

The beautyCaRe System ensures visible results from the very first session, with two exclusive characteristics: cutting-edge medical technology and greater therapeutic efficacy than any other equipment on the market, therefore making it more efficient.

The beautyCaRe System is indicated in the following treatments:

Face: sagging skin, bags and dark circles under the eyes, anti-aging, expression lines and double chin.

Body: anti-cellulite, localised adiposity, firming effect, breasts, varicosites, tired legs, buttocks and stretch marks.

Versatility in treatments: pre- and post-operative treatments, postpartum, hyper- and hypo-pigmentation, lymphatic drainage.

Further on they say that it provides a permanent lift to breasts - I didn't know this was possible without surgery...

Okay, so I went up to the salon at lunch - they are charging £75 per treatment, and you are supposed to have (as usual!) one per week (I think - actually I can't remember if it's two per week) for 8 treatments, then do maintenance.

That's expensive!

So - this is a RF treatment, for that price I could buy a STOP (which had a mixed/negative review here at EDS).

I'm doing some more reading up, but here are some interesting links:

http://www.smartskincare.com/treatments/noninvasive/radiofrequencyplus.html

http://www.smartskincare.com/treatments/noninvasive/radiofrequency_mono-and-bipolar_tripollar.html

Is anyone using any other kind of RF treatment, and if so, how do you find it?

I am very sceptical about RF treatments. A friend of mine received a free Thermage treatment for her stretched, post-baby tummy. (Normally would cost AUS $5000). She said the pain was similar to child birth and the effects so far are negligible - it's been about 2 months since she had it.

There has been much discussion on the Forum about Radio Frequency Treatments - in general, results have been negligible.

I paid AUD$4,000 for a Thermage treatment - which was the biggest waste of money ever. I also own a STOP - can't say I've seen any real lifting from that either. But I'm happy to use it fortnightly and just hope that it's encouraging some collagen stimulation.

You really need to speak to someone that's had this treatment to see if they think it's worthwhile. Boots are a very reputable company though, so I would imagine they'd stand by their treatments.

Oh! So this is where my post went! It disappeared, and I thought I may have done something wrong by listing the prices!

Well, I went two days ago for a free consulation - I didn't realise that you get a free 20-30 min treatment! It didn't hurt at all, in fact it was mostly pleasantly warm. It got a bit uncomfortably hot on my neck, but the therapist immediately turned it down - so there is not the expectation that you must have pain for gain.

After the treatment (the therapist kept asking if my face felt lifted, and seemed a little annoyed when I shrugged) my face felt a little tighter but I guess that was a combo of the face gel drying and the inflammation. No visible diff to me, in spite of the therapist saying my eyebrows looked lifted.

After the treatment (about an hour), and once I had washed off the hideous shiny look from the remanants of gel, my face did look a bit fresher (again, probably the inflammation filling out a bit here and there).

I must admit, I am tempted to go back for the proper 45min treatment... you know what they say, there's a sucker born every min.

(Oh, and I've been trawling for reviews, but can't find any yet.)
