I received a sample sachet of this mask in a GWP a while back, so I can't do a full review, but sure can do a bit of a rave.
This mask was simply devine to use. The texture (both when wet and dry) was almost the same as my much-loved "Decleor Clay and Herbal Cleansing Mask" (Which is reviewed http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=3405&highlight=decleor+clay+herbal+cleansing+mask ). It goes on creamy and does dry but not to a face-cracking or irritating dry status.
The package description said: A firming, nourishing, hydrating, calming and soothing mask suitable for all skin types.
The EDS site also says "revitalises and refreshes tired looking skin. Use it before special occasions as a 'beauty flash' treatment. "
EDS only sells the small size of 40ml (CA$49) but there is a large tube (about 70ml I think) that Jurlique sell through their website.
The smell is to DIE FOR (very similar fragrance to their cleansing lotion) and perhaps even better than the Decleor one.
Useage: Apply to dry or damp skin after soaking face with Jurlique AHC. Remove mask with wet wash cloth after 10-20 minutes of rest. I personally like to rub a bit of cleansing lotion onto the mask before removal just so it is not necessary to rub so much.
Ingredients:
Water; Kaolin; Herbal Extract Mixture from: Quince, Rose, Licorice, Calendula, Daisy, Green Tea, Grape Seed, Tumeric; Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride;Ceteryl Alcohol; Safflower oil; Glycerine; Avocado Oil; Methyl Cellulose; Shea Butter; Macadamia Oil; Jojoba Oil; Honey; Jydroxymethylglycinate; Lavender Oil;Evening Primrose Oil; Soy Lethicin; Carrot Oil Extract; Lemon Oil; Aloe Extract; lactic Acid; Xanthan Gum; Orange Oil; Vitamin E (Tocopherol)
I give this product a and it is on my shopping list (which for masks is quite long!) |

ooooo yes I really want this now
I think the description of it being similar in texture to the Decleor Clay & herbal mask clinched in and as its Jurlique I know it will smell divine |

I love this mask
I was going to write a review on it but I didn't know what to compare it with. I bought this mask based on recommendations by celebrities in Taiwan. The smell is divine (strong citus and orange scents). You can even apply this mask around the eye contour. This mask definately makes my face glow like a light blub
I didn't not purchase Jurlique's AHC which was recommended to use together with the mask. I just use it after Dr. HCC or Jurlique's Face Wash Cream. The large size is 125ml and I don't know how I can finish using it in six months (Jurlique's products should be used in 6 months after opening). Now, I successfully converted my other half to use it together with me.

Based on this review, I bought this mask using the voucher I got, my goodness, the smell is heavenly and my skin seems brighter. I hope there's no radio active ingredients in there!
How often can we use this mask? |

This is exactly how the Herbal Recovery Gel works for me. Glowing lovely skin for a few days and then BAM! Pimple city... |

This stuff rocks – I’m so glad I mustered up enough courage, based on TigerTim’s recommendation, to purchase it with my EDS voucher that I won on my birthday at the end of October! In fact, I like it so much that I’m planning to order a 2nd tube with the EDS voucher that Santa awarded me after Christmas....My only gripe with it is that I haven’t yet found a way to incorporate it into my morning routine without having to wake up an extra 20 minutes early in order to use it. *pouts* Using this mask in the mornings would make my skin look dynamite on the days that I’m too lazy or too sick to bother putting on a full face of makeup! For the record, I don’t apply it after using the Jurlique AHC either. Instead, I cleanse my face first with either my Phytomer Purifying Gel cleanser or Yonka Nettoyant Gel cleanser, then rinse and pat dry, then apply the mask and wait 20 minutes then rinse with tepid water and then tone with my ACV toner.
Anyway, to anyone who is on the fence about trying this, my advice would be to request a sample of it the next time you place an order with EDS! |

FYI - I discovered the reason that some of you ladies experienced breakouts a couple days after using this mask: it contains Calendula, which is a "drawing" agent (i.e.: it brings the long-dormant gunk in your pores to the surface). |

Carekate thankyou, I have been wondering about Calendula for a while now, I wonder if that is why some get purging effects when they first start using Dr Hauschka as the products from the Dr H line all contain Calendula. |

Now it makes sense, thanks Carekate. So should I continue using this mask? I left the tube in Dallas, I was going to have my sister try it but she didn't like the smell of it. I'll tell her to send it back to me. |

Oh no! I am a "mask junkie", and I feel I need a fix after reading this. My poor pocketbook is already hurting from the holidays. To but or not to buy.....that is the question......

Theoretically, once the Calendula has brought all of the impurities to the surface to be purged, thereafter you shouldn’t experience any further breakouts from using the mask (assuming you’re keeping your skin and pores well cleansed with regular use of a product like DHCC).
My guess is that the next couple of times you use this mask, you’ll probably get a few more pimples as the remaining debris is purged, but after that you should only see the “glowing lovely skin” that Tiger_Tim and WildCat raved about.
For the record, I’m ashamed to admit that I apparently haven’t been keeping my skin is deeply cleansed as I had thought (probably because I stopped using my homemade DHCC a few months ago!) because I also experienced the appearance of a few bumps after the 3rd time I used the Jurlique mask and the calendula drew all of the gunk to the surface. Fortunately, I still had my bottle of homemade Yonka “Emulsion Pure” so applying a compress of the EP overnight meant that those horrid little bumps had miraculously shrunk to near-invisibility by the next morning! |

I was just wondering how does this mask compare to Valmont Renewing Pack? Is this more of a cleansing mask? Sorry! people I am not good with reading labels... is so confusing, hope you can help.
I have only tried this once with a sample packet and it was not bad. I am using renewing pack and a mud mask for cleansing (but I find it too drying). Would it be too rich if I used renewing pack and the penetrating mask? I have combination skin nowadays with noticable pores on my cheek and prone to breakout during MP. Looking forward to some advice.

Jurlique Deep Penetrating Cream Mask is not for deep cleaning. Jurlique have another deep cleaning mask called moor purifying mask i think.
I use both Velmont Renewing Pack and Jurlique DPC mask (not on the same night though). I didn't find it too rich. |

First off, a huge big hug to Carrie for sending me a sample of this. I have just washed this mask off my face so I thought I'd write something while it's fresh in my mind. (Btw, Carrie, did you get my PM? I think I owe you some cash my dear. Please let me know how much....)
Ok, so this is yet another mask that I will probably end up buying. Or at least one that makes me want to try the other Jurlique masks as well. Unlike most of you I don't particularly care for the smell because it's a fairly strong lemony scent and I don't particularly enjoy that. I do like the scent of the Jurlique cleansing lotion because it's a bit milder than this. Having said that, the smell of the mask is very natural, not a synthetic citrus.
So, I just used my SkinMedica Exfoliant and then went straight for this. I was actually silly and I didn't use the ACV before the mask (despite having some ACV ) which I do regret, but that is just yet another reason for me to buy this mask I did spray my face with Jurlique Rosewater Toner however and applied the mask to damp skin. I washed it off with luke warm water and a sea sponge after about 15 minutes. The mask did dry on my face and did make it feel a little bit tight (while it was dry) but nothing like what you would experience from a mud/clay mask. This is not surprising I guess given that the mask itself is creamy yet a bit clay-like at the same time (it's an odd light greyish color).
After removing this, my skin is looking even and quite bright and also more matte. I also feel that the mask has some firming effect but I would definitely not call it hydrating (not that it's drying though). Overall, a very nice natural mask that is a little refreshing or relaxing as well (I just noticed that I don't feel as tired as before - this could be from the scent of it and from the mere fact that I did a mask, which tends to be relaxing I guess).
How is everybody else going with this mask? Any updates? |

A bump!!
Well after reading this thread, and the reviews on MUA, this was a lemming for me.
I have used twice so far, once in the morning and once in the evening.
(I was rather disappointed with Jurlique's Moor purifying mask so didn't know what to expect when I ordered this in the 125ml size)
The first time I used it, in the morning, I applied it after rinsing my face with lukewarm water to remove traces of last night's moisturisers and such, I didn't bother to cleanse though. I was in a rush, so only left it on for about 5 minutes. I actually rather like the smell, good as a revitalising wake-up scent.
Well I couldn't notice any significant results with this time, because I pretty much had to do the whole moisturise/makeup/catch a bus routine fast! But throughout the day, my face felt very 'comfortable' - usually it is really tight because I have overapplied my silk dust and flushed looking because of the morning madness.
WELLL the second time, I used it right after a hot shower and cleansing with Jurlique face wash cream. After a few seconds it did tingle a little, possible because hot shower + citrus based mask. But nothing irritating though.
It was quite a mission to rinse off, I let it dry for about 15 minutes and like Mabsy said, it wasn't that suck-the-life-force-out kind of dry that I would get with regular clay masks.
After I rinsed off, my skin was soooooo soft, and my skintone was really calm (which is not usual after vigorous rinsing and rubbing under hot water).
So the ultimate test for me is, what my complexion will look like in the morning!
(but this would definitely be a keeper ) |
