I am reading this magazine and it suggest that fewer ingredients in an anti-redness product, the better. True. That rule is generally applied to all skin care products.
There is a suggestion to mix some aloe vera with jojoba oil and I wonder if this is a perfect moisturizing formula? It suggest that it offers a lipid barrier to prevent moisture loss.
I can't help wonder if you can mix one of Decleor oil with aloe vera and benefit your skin? |

I would imagine that you could add any oil you wanted.
I find aloe used alone to be drying. |

I use aloe & hemp oil mixed together, emulsified in my hands, most days. My skin loves it. I have rosacea & it's lovely for my skin. |

Gosh, a variety of things - I'm still working things out (only recognized it as rosacea & confirmed with diagnosis this past Spring, after a winter-long flare).
Scrip-wise, MetroGel, .025% Retin-A cream, & low-dose Doxycycline (50mg). The Doxy doesn't seem to do much to help my skin, but it does seem to help reduce my eye symptoms.
OTC-wise, I cycle through a variety of cleansers - GOW Rosacea Cleanser, Aveeno Ultra-Calming Cream Cleanser, Cetaphil, and a DIY honey-aloe-decylglucoside cleanser of my own. I use lots of aloe - I do the aloe-hemp oil mix first thing in the morning after cleansing, if I'm going to work out soon after (I do Bikram Yoga 4-5 times a week), because it calms my skin pretty instantly, absorbs quickly, leaves my skin comfortable, and I don't have to worry about cleansing again before sweating it out in yoga. At other times, I will apply MetroGel first, then moisturize with one of the other moisturizers I also cycle through (cycling through is big in my world LOL) - right now I'm really loving GOW's Coconut Revival Cream & Avalon Organics Vitamin C Serum. Neither causes my skin to flare up - it's been hard finding any moisturizers at all, so I'm pretty stoked about these two.
A big factor for me has been avoiding food triggers. And stress is the biggest factor of all - I have stress right now that I simply have to manage, and that does impact whether my skin flares or not. |

bellablue, what is GOW? Why do you use hemp oil? What does it do for the skin?
I am also wondering if you can use Vivier vitamin C? |

I've never used Vivier, it's likely out of my price range. But ascorbic acid based C serums upset my skin, so I avoid them.
GOW is Garden of Wisdom (mentioned in earlier posts).
Hemp oil is loaded with nutrients. I tried quite few oils over the past few years, and my skin likes hemp best. It absorbs well, reduces redness, and conditions my skin nicely. Sesame oil is my second favorite.
