I had my medium brown hair highlighted. It came out yellow/orange. Heavy highlights. I read I could add Redken EQ shades as a toner for highlights in a light ash brown & my highlights would be more of a Carmel color. Well ALL of my hair is DARK DARK Brown, almost Black. I am very fair skinned, needless to say how bad this looks. After spending all that money on highlights and now I have none... Is there a way to lighten up the EQ shades color some?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!! |

Wash it several times with a deep cleansing shampoo.
If that doesn't work enough, wash it with laundry detergent (wash, rinse, and repeat a few times). Then condition well.
My sister used to own a hair salon, and this was preferable to further damaging colored hair by bleaching out the color. I just had to do it myself a month ago. |

I have been washing & washing using hot oil treatments(read this would help remove color) & I only see a very slight change....
Thanks for your help
I read a product called Oops Color would remove color to natural color. Any one tried it |

That will most likely NOT return your hair to the original base color if you previously used a permanent color, because permanent color (including bleach) changes the base color.
I used another color remover in the past, and it DID lighten my hair color, but it also made it brassy and very dry. |

This is the protocol that I have heard that I have used also. My daughter-in-law had highlights and wanted to have a contrast with her medium brown hair and blonde highlights....what she ended up with was awful...she looked like a skunk...the stylist bleach out large chunks totally white and added black to her brown parts!!!!She looked pitiful and she is a beautiful girl.....looked like Halloween  We tried the detergent to get the black out and it wouldn't come off at all. Since that didn't work I paid for her to go to a color specialist to get it corrected. I am famous for the do-it -yourself approach but I now run to a expert stylist regardless of the cost when things need correcting.When you don't know what you are doing you can really damage your hair. |

| Tony, I agree...I won't ever remove color myself again, beyond the detergent approach. The color remover was just too harsh. |

There is nothing that tears me up any worse than when someone has messed up my hair....I become a basket case and totally lose it!

| Well I tried the Color Oops and am VERY pleased with the results. I used the extra condition formular. I did a strand test. The color starting changing in 5 minutes(directions call for 20 minutes max). I was afraid to let it go longer than 5 minutes. You have to rinse for 20 minutes! It really smells bad and it did leave it dry but not too bad after all the the washing I've done the last 2 days. I did a hot oil treatment afterwards and ta-da very nice shiny brown hair with golden highlight! |

The salon sells something to remove dye.
But then I was told you should use something to bring your hair colour more back to "normal".
I know you can get semi permanent stuff like Goldwell and Wella foams, and also Colourshines clear hair gloss and that makes very dry stripped hair super shiny..like wet look almost!
I don't think you can get these items at the drugstore though.
The salon I go to usually orders the Colourshines gloss for me, as they do not stock all the shades.
I think it is almost $70 as it is a large professonal bottle. |

JUST wash your hair several times in a week and also you can take he opinion of any beauty expert. If he knows that how to color the hair then he also must know that how to remove color.
And by the temporary and natural hair color is the best for the hair as you can easily change it and can get different hair look.
Wants to know about the home made natural hair color? 
IF yes then reply me. I have tried it and it really works without any side effect.  |
