Ok,
The first dermatologist i went to said the path on my face was nevus and this dermatologist i went to see thinks it is Acanthosis Nigricans due to me being diabetic. I searched this forum and didn't find any words on this term. The dermatologist did say there really isnt any cream that targets it but couple he suggest might help - he also suggested Microdermabrasion. Anyone who had this condition can help? I read up on it briefly and it seems losing weight (getting insulin down) will make it go away... i hope it is true! |

I looked it up, and obesity and insulin resistance (which causes obesity) are both major drivers, though PCOS can cause it as well.
Do you have type 1 or 2 diabetes? |

How are you managing your blood sugar? I was pre-diabetic and was on Metformin, but I actually just dropped my carb intake and was able to do away with the drugs which depleted other nutrients like co-q10, B12, etc.
If you are Type 2, the discoloration may not be attractive, but is far less important than the other diabetes-related health issues. And it sounds like once you get the diabetes and weight under control, it will probably rectify itself. |

yeah i hope that is the correct diagnosis but not just because i had diabetes... does it "magically" appear once i got diabetes though? i have had it for like 1.5 years and i think i got diabetes then (well diagnosed later but it couldve started then?). I am tyring to lose weight etc. so i hope it helps... |
