hi all...
my boyfriend and I are talking about marriage and I've been shopping around for the 'perfect' dress... well, I finally found what I think will be my perfect dress and I'm very eager to let my partner see it... however, I've heard in the past that it's bad luck if he sees it before the wedding day... so my question is...
Can he see the dress itself, but just not me wearing it, prior to the wedding day?
I know it sounds very superstitious (and it probably is) but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone can provide me some input on this...
thanks in advance... much appreciation ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

I wouldn't worry about the superstition at all. Sure, if he wants to see the dress, show it to him. But I think the surprise of finally seeing you in the dress on your wedding day is fun! |

I agree the surprise of seeing you all dolled up in your dress and radiant is a moment to remember forever. Can you take a very close friend to see it on and will be honest with you about how it fits and looks on you?
Best Wishes! ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

I didn't let my husband see it! It is total superstition but I don't care. Everything else about a wedding is just ritual, after all, so no way! ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

How exciting to find a dress you like!
I always thought the superstition was related to having him see you in the dress. I thought seeing the dress itself (not wearing it) wasn't part of the superstition. It may be different in other parts of the world/country.
I did let my husband-to-be see the dress, just not while wearing it. We are still married 23 years later!
Congratulations! |

To me it's not about the superstition, just having that moment where he sees his bride for the first time (along with the dress) and having him be overwhelmed by his about to be wife as a lovely vision. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

THANK YOU all for sharing your thoughts... As eager as I am to want to show him the dress, I'm going to try really hard not to
I want him to fall head over heels when he sees me in the dress.... not literally though
I am soo excited about the dress that I actually want to share it with everyone on this thread, but I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to so I'll have to contain my excitement to myself lol |
