I really want to get Flex Effect book by Deb Crowley, but unfortunately cannot afford it after buying so many christmas presents! I could probably afford the dvd for just $25, but I've heard that has only like 15 exercises as opposed to the book having over 40. Does anyone have a used copy of the book that I can buy from you, say for example if you have already memorized the exercises-or if they didn't really work for you? I've looked on ebay and amazon and can't find it anywhere...
Thanks everybody! And have a Happy Christmas!

amazon.com has a great selection of used books in all sorts of condition - you can get some for a couple of dollars on up (for ones like new). It seems that alot of the sellers are on the US west coast & most of them are rated by amazon as to service, etc. If you use them be sure to ask about books that are non-smoking (if you are not a smoker it makes a difference!) I read an awful lot & I have had great success with this book purchasing method. |

FYI - I just checked Amazon and they say that the book is out of print -- they didn't even have any used copies available! I checkedwww.outofprint.com andwww.bookfinder.com, and couldn't find it there, either.... |

I tried Amazon & Barnes & Noble with no FlexEffect results either. I rarely have that happen! There is a way (I think on Amazon) that you can put out a request for a used book, dvd, video. Maybe that would do it? |

Danielle,
Ruthmarion made a good suggestion about putting a request on Amazon for the book. It's called pre-ordering.
The flexeffect book is hard to find used. I'm a bookseller and haven't run across it ever. I had to purchase from Deb's site and like you didn't want to pay so much (especially since I get my books dirt cheap) I did start with the video and used that for a year. So it's a good place to start. I did feel that it was time to buy the book for more defined results and a better understanding of the structure of my face and although a small book, I'm not unhappy about the cost.
Why not buy the dvd and start with that and at the same time search around for the book. You may get lucky. It's actually a great advert for the program that there are no used copies around. Nobody wants to part with them. |

if it isn't in print any more, might that not mean that it doesn't actually work very well? |

guapagirl,
It still is in print. Sometimes big booksellers like Amazon & Barnes & Noble will use the term "out of print" especially when it's a small publisher or self published. The book doesn't even have an ISBN so it would be hard for them to verify if it was still in print. In fact, the book was just up dated this year. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Awwwh, you guys are so sweet, scouring the used book world for me.... I was wondering if I would even have a reply...
I'll do that, go ahead and buy the dvd and then try to find and/or scrape up the money for the book...I've just heard that I'll want to get the book, as my particular "part" I want to work on is not mentioned in the dvd basic exercises.
FYI...for those of you who may not have tried these...I did find a double chin one and it has already helped immensely!
Anyway...thanks you guys, you're the greatest!
Merry Christmas!
Danielle
Oh and Queenpedauque -
" It's actually a great advert for the program that there are no used copies around. Nobody wants to part with them" - I was thinking the same thing when I didn't find it on amazon or ebay...after all EVERYTHING is for sale on ebay! How have the exercises worked for you?
...and hey I was wondering too, if maybe I can describe what I want to work on and you can tell me if there is an exercise I can do to address that? Although I do know that doing all the exercises is important as all the muscles are interconnected...in ways we might not even think of...
What I was wanting to address is the little bit of excess fat or whatever on either side of my nose? I don't really have lines there yet (are they called nasal fabloids or something ... I'm probably WAY off, but it's similar to that...) I'm still young (30) but you know when you're younger the skin on either side of your nose is pretty flat when your not smiling and later (man! I wish I could draw a picture here!) later on some people there is a long bit of tissue on either side of the nose. Sorta like this> /u\ <the u is the nose!...it's hardly noticible on me but I noticed it in a hard lighting shadow recently...when normally my cheek would be the only thing causing a shadow, instead I saw this other part creeping in...perhaps it's a loss of fat in my tear duct area only making it seem like this is new mass, when it's just actually loss of fat. Which is why I started looking into the facial exercises, because I figured I could build that area up, if it's possible. Perhaps just building up the cheeks would help to PULL the skin up a bit too...?
Just going for a long shot here...hope to hear back from you...
Thanks so much...!

Danielle,
Your age is probably a perfect age to start and as for the nasal labial lines, there is a good exercise on the dvd for that. Just doing that one has made a huge difference on me and I'm alot older than you.
I post on the Flexeffect discussion board occasionally and just posted something today that gives an overview of my results. I post under Kim on that board. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |
