I've left numerous posts extolling the virtues of Aubrey Organics hair care products, and now I am seriously peeved with that company!
Since their haircare was so wonderful I decided to order a few of their skin care products. I placed a 75 dollar order online so I would qualify for free shipping -- that was over a month ago. I called them up and they basically said 'tough luck' and gave me the option of reordering and paying again!! They actually blamed ME for not purchasing insurance (I didn't notice an option at the time that I ordered) and claimed that the website highly recommends that you purchase it when you check out (it certainly does not!) So I finally asked to be transferred to a supervisor, who wouldn't listen to a word I said and curtly informed me that they shipped my order out via "surface mail" and that it takes 6-8 weeks to arrive and to call back in a month.
Imagine my surprise when I visited usps.gov and there was no such thing as surface mail, and no method of mailing takes 6-8 weeks to get from Florida to New York! I have called a few times since asking them how long their free shipping takes, and they have consistantly said 4-6 days. Incidentally, if I had waited the suggested time for the package to arrive, I would have waited past the deadline to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I imagine it won't be hard to get a refund because they didn't even get tracking on their package and they could not even provide me with proof that it was shipped!
Sorry if I am ranting, but I am seriously peeved and would like to warn anybody who is considering ordering Aubrey Organic products to NOT do it through their website! I feel completely ripped off! |

I always hate to hear of problems of shopping on-line. I am just discovering how wonderful it can be!
Seriously I do hope that your credit card company can sort this out for you. I agree 6-8 weeks is terrible within the US.
Good luck! |

Thanks, guys. I'm actually going to call my credit card company to dispute the charge, so it will probably work out in my favor. However, you need to be careful where you order from and be sure to check their policy on lost packages. I've never had this experience before, every other company I have ever ordered from (including EDS) will re-ship a missing package right away, no questions asked. Needless to say, I will NEVER be ordering from Aubrey Organics again. |

is their website endorsed by the BBB, verify or any other company?
I'd file a complaint with them too!
Visa should give your money back, they're good about that. I got money from visa back from a vacation with canada 3000 went down. |

That's a good idea, lianne, I will be checking out the BBB. I paid via mastercard, so I hope they are as good as visa in refunding my payment! Thanks for the suggestions. |

I hope so too! I checked out their site, the only part about insurance I saw was when you send the stuff back for a return. But I didn't get into the checkout area.
They didn't have a BBB icon anywhere, just verisign or whatever.
Hopefully MC will be generous! |

Well my post was effective -- my package arrived today! Hehe. Okay, I feel a little silly about my rant, but I still maintain that their customer service was pretty rude!! I stand by my advice that if you do order from them and have it shipped through the postal service -- PURCHASE INSURANCE! And I'll be sure to write reviews on my new finds. |

YAY!!
Don't you feel like a bit of an ass when that happens? I wrote a place once asking the exact date of shipment cuz it was so slow, and that afternoon I got the package |

Yeah I do feel like a bit of an ass, but that still doesn't change how rude they were on the phone!
I ordered the travel set of their cleanser, astringent, moisturizer and mask for oily skin. I tried out the cleanser so far and it seemed like it REALLY stripped my skin of oils, I kind of didn't like that. It also contains menthol so I'm a little wary about using it on my eyes. I'm just not sure if I am ready to switch from Dr. H's cleansing cream just yet! The one thing that I ordered that I really like is their blue-green algae hair mask. I have a real problem with my itchy itchy scalp, and this mask seems to have an immediate effect! In combination with the oily hair shampoos I have been using I've actually been able to skip a day of shampooing and only wash every other day! (Thank God it's winter.) The only problem with the hair mask is I seem to be using half the jar on one application! It might get costly. |

Maybe this is merely sinking down to their level but I find that when someone is rude to me (be it in person or over the phone), I tend to flip the "bitch switch"!! And I'm here to tell ya, you don't want to have a conversation with Carrie when the bitch switch is engaged -- even grown men have been known to quake in their shoes!! I think it must be my latent Scorpio tendencies...whatever, it's quite a handy tool when people start acting like a horse's *ss around me! Chimera -- if your package hadn't have arrived when it did, I was going to volunteer to give Aubrey's hell for you -- just let me know if I can ever be of service!! |

Haha! Thanks for the offer, CareKate! I will keep you in mind the next time I have to deal with the phone company. Is it me or is customer service for most companies seriously going downhill in the last year or two?? |

Well, just don't call upon me to bless anyone out for you anytime soon -- I've got a nasty case of bronchitis and I've completely lost my voice!! This is QUITE distressing to me. What if I suddenly need to flip the bitch switch?? Whatever shall I do? I guess I'll just have to settle for semaphoring my arms around and making obscene gestures. This is kinda like the day I sprained my middle finger...I was very concerned that day because I feared I might need to flip somebody off during my afternoon commute but be unable to do so! (If you've never driven in Austin traffic, you will likely seriously underestimate the importance of having healthy fingers! ) |

Carrie, I think you belong here with me in New York! Sounds like a typical rush hour commute to me. |
