specialist food shops sometimes sell it. I'd have to buy online or get it sent up from London, but it is supposed to be really good for th skin! |

just one note about argan...be sure you are buying cosmetic grade argan. the argan you buy from the market to eat is pressed from roasted seeds, rather than the cosmetic grade which is unroasted.
i've only just started to use argan oil, but i bought a small amount of it directly from my aesthetician as well as her own argan+essential oils face mix.
just to add to the list...

it usually says if it is toasted or not. un toasted culinary oil is fine for cosmetic use. I guess you could use the toasted variety for fragrance though, It smell lovely |

What's the difference between roasted and unroasted argan oil? I noticed at Rosa Y Fruta that the proprietor seems to use gourmet food oils as opposed to cosmetic oils in her products.

I would imagine that roasting the nuts may destroy some of the beneficial ingredients, but I honestly don't know. Either way for skincare I would follow Lamicuz and get unroasted |

i would go w. guapagirl's answer, as heat is usually what destroys beneficial properties in many ingredients. |

there is a big difference between the two
roasted argan oil is used for culinary uses as mentionned but it does indeed lose the therapeutic properties for cosmetic use
its the cold pressed (or unroasted) argan oil you want to use on your skin. it has lots of different applications and benefitss (good for scalp skin hair etc)
www.amoressence.com are located in north america and ship to the states. they have some info on their site too....
ive used their product and was very satisfied.
anyway if u are interested in the topic let me know as i have read alot about it. |

Hi, unroasted argan oil is best for cosmetic use. Argan oil made from roasted seeds is best for food use. I don't just use argan oil for skin, I use argan oil for hair too. It's really great for hair, especially dry or damaged hair. |
