I know there are lots of threads on this, and I have posted there too, but I really would love some advice on this soon, if possible
I really want to start using CP's but am confused.
I have dry skin, somewhat sensitive, some pigmentation and some sagging (which are my two main concerns) few wrinkles and some broken caps. I have had two IPL treatments for these and am due to have a 3rd late next week. These are definately working but costly!
What CP's would you suggest I start with. Also did the sun bed tanning thing and covered my face! but now my neck and chest area need help, so am really interested in using them on these areas.
at the moment I use..
AM
Cleanse with Akin Cleanser
Paula's Choice Antioxidant Serum
Paula's Choice Resist Serum
Skin Actives I Bright Cream (which I am not real keen on)
Paula's Choice Moisturisier
Neutrogena Face Sunscreen SPF30
PM
Basically the same without the Sunscreen.
I also use an LED about 4 times a week.
Next on my list is NCN PP and mircofibe cloth.
I have been looking on the skinbiology site and don't know where to start!
any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated..thanks..x |

Start by using an equal number of CP drops mixed with an equal number of drops of water. Maybe start with about 3-4 drops of CP's mixed with 3-4 drops of water (For your face). Do this for one week then switch to 3-4 drops of CP's to 2-3 drops of water. Wait another week then continue with 3-4 drops of CP's to 1-2 drops of water. By week 4 you should be able to go full strength without any water drops mixed in. For the chest & neck area use about 6-7 drops of CP's to water following the same gradual process of water elimination over the 3-4 week period. Always follow with an exfoliant in the morning. I like Exfol cream for the chest & Neck but prefer IFP aha/bha serum for the face.
Use the CP's at night with a little Emu or Squalene oil layer over the top. In the morning do not use CP's but rather a C-serum and your preferred moisturizer. (I love Alpha Derma CE) and a good eye cream.
I also use a 10% aha/bha serum both morning and night waiting 15-20 minutes before applying either CP's or C-serum. (Face Only)
Super Cop cream and Super Cop X2 is very, very strong and should only be used to help get rid of skin tags, moles, or scars. It is excellent in removing any of the above but will cause redness and itching in the process and I personally would not use it on the facial area over all - maybe for a spot treatment if you have a small mole or scar that you are trying to eliminate.
Hope this helps |

I, too, am just starting with CP's. Read through some threads and decided to purchase:
Super GHK Copper Cream and Serum - 15 ml - Cream
Protect & Restore with High Retinol and Oil of Lavender - 2 oz
CP Night Eyes Premier (Bonus) -- Very generous!
These products are specifically for sensitive and/or dry skin, which is why I purchased them.
I totally forgot about diluting with water. I just put the eye product on my entire face because it is supposedly the lightest concentration of CP's. Went ahead and used the P&R on décolleté.
Purchased a bottle of AmLactin (12% lactic acid) and am using that, as well. May switch back to my retin-a micro gel, though. I am very happy with that and don't need the addtional "glow" of lactic acid, as my face tends toward ruddy.
The whole routine seemed fine, but have only used once. Think to be on the safe side, I will dilute the CP products using the formula above. |

thanks for the advice fairlady,
I can't decide between the Protect & Restore or the Copper Serum (although the Copper is more expensive)
also can I ask what is the 10% aha/bha serum that you use?
i think I would like to try the BND cream for the chest area?
foxe has also gave me great advice on the CP thread, you guys are all so helpful, thanks..x |

Your most welcome Bermie.
As far as P&R vs. CP serum it really depends on what skin problems you are targeting the most. If your primary issue is wrinkle prevention, moisturizing, and some minor line repair then I would go with the P&R day cover AM & the P&R High Retinol PM with a light application of Emu, Jojoba or Squalane layered over the top.
If you are targeting deeper wrinkles, dull skin, bumpy skin, acne and/or acne marks/scars, I would start with the CP serum and work my way up to Super CP Serum, using Super Cop X2 on any specific problem areas such as moles, skin tags, acne cysts. Again, apply a layer of one of the above oils lightly over the top of the CP's. After you reach a point where your skin is looking good, you can switch to the P&R as a maintenance program. BND is a great product for the breasts(does seem to make the skin a little firmer and very smooth) but again, not aggressive enough for difficult sun damage, wrinkles, or bumps on the chest area. Always apply Exfol, LacSal or another exfoliating serum or cream daily. The AHA/BHA Serum I like is from a home based company which we are not permitted to discuss on EDS forums. If you would like the information on it and the website link, send me a private message and I will forward you the information.
Happy CPing! |

thanks again..
My skin is pretty good, so I think I will go with the R & P with Retinol, and maybe the exfol?
my chest is alot worse than my face, so maybe I will try something abit stronger for there.
its really the long term benefits that I am interested in.
I believe CP's are really good to use with LED's. I use a LED about 4 times a week, so maybe adding some CP's might enhance the treatment. |

Bermie - if you want to use the LED w/ the CPs, get a serum based CP. It shouldn't interfer with the lights like a cream would.
I agree with you on using the LED w/ CPs. I always try to use CPs before my AALS as I want to get those CPs in much deeper! They've worked so well for me before I got my AALS, and I think the combo is a win-win situation too! |

thanks foxe, I will try that! I think I may have been reducing the effectiveness of my LED, sometimes I applied some avocado oil before (for slip effect) but see now that's not good to do!!
so many things to learn on this forum, its great..lol |

Bermie for your chest I suggest using the P&R with retinol OR Trireduction (stronger but effective - this is what I use. You can also use TriReduction on your hands.
I love DayCover for my regular Sunscreen. The benefit of CP's with the benefit of sun protection. this goes on top of SS and TTT. Waiting a bit between layers. |

Bernie and Foxe - don't mean to hijack, but may I ask what AALS you use? I think AALS is the brand name...? I was considering purchasing the BabyQuasar (red) for hyperpigmentation and lines. But I wasn't sure if people are really seeing results and I got so overwhelmed.
I was hoping you 'guys' could tell me how you like your AALS and what it has done for your skin (and how long it took to see results). Would you recommend? And it doesn't interfere with Botox does it?
Once again, sorry for the hijack! Thank you so much. I've also learned what CP's I want to order from your thread.
Best,
Amy |

Amyalex - AALS is the Anti-aging Light Stim. It is a specific LED device and based on all I have read it appears to be The Favorite on EDS. The website DM posted was started by Kassy who is still on here occasionally. She has had terrific results. She also has made a serum (DIY) that boosts results of LED use. Good luck. There is much to learn! |

Personally I have been using a Skin Physics phytron, I am been using about 4 times a week and am definately finding an improvement, My skin seems more plump- after, lines are softened, its a nice feeling that I dont think is doing any harm so I will continue.
would love to know what the best serum would be to use just before it though, so still looking into that!! |

Thanks Darkmoon. I see the thread started in '08. I'll work my way through it. I'm mostly curious if anyone who bought a couple years ago still use it and are happy with it and enjoying positive results. Thanks again! |

Thank you very much fairlady for such detailed information about CP's schedule.
Only just started myself using the lightest serum and applying squalane oil over it, I guess only six days of use is to soon to see a difference... a bit scared of maybe being one of the users that has negative effects, but for the moment everything seems fine. |

Hi ATester:
Glad you found the post helpful. Don't be afraid of CP usage - just go slowly and gradually work up the level of strength. If by some chance you notice a negative reaction (redness, irritation, itching) just back down the strength or even skip a day or two until your skin calms back down. Seriously, you have nothing to be afraid of.
Fairlady |

Fox - on top of Skin Signals (sorry - gets confusing). sunscreen over Day cover if I use it which I rarely do. the Day cover seems to be enough. |

A tester - I agree with Fairlady. You are using a light CP so I expect you are fine. Continue the lighter CP until it's gone and then you can bump it up to a next level. You can always put a stronger CP **over Squalane to modify (lessen) the results of the CP when you start a stronger one or you can water it down as your skin adjusts. Less and less water every few days until you're using the full strength. |

Thanks fairlady and sister sweets, yes it is the lightest serum I'm using, not watering it down, rather the opposite, adding the squalane oil on top for better absorption!!
When I finish this serum I'll try the next normal CP serum and see how it goes. Knowing about watering it down, or the oil first and then the serum I think I should do fine, as with the one I'm using just now I'm not finding any issues of itchiness, or anything negative...
Hugs. |

I know what you mean about itchiness. I sometimes use Super Cop2x and it does itch. (Just on a few small areas and NL). |

I have a few more questions if anyone can help please..
I received my order today.. P&R with retinol, exfol serum, and squalane moisturiser..
Now, I had my 3rd IPL treatment last Saturday which is 4 days ago, still swollen, under the eyes and across the cheekbones especially. My chest was done too and its crazy!! I am covered in brown and red marks, they are starting to get itchy and feel scaley? I also have a couple of red marks on one cheek and a few discolourations all over in general, all a good sign, and I am extremely happy with the results. My skin is going to look really even toned (eventually!!)
question is, will I start my CP's today, or will I wait a few more days till everything settles down? I am inclined to wait, not sure I should start a new regime until everything is healed? then if anything crops up I will know what is the cause?
any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks..x |

Hi Bermie:
CP's are suppose to be healing. They were originally developed to heal burn victims. I certainly would not use any retinol or the exfol at this time - both of those products could cause further irritation, so not a good idea. It appears you did not purchase regular CP serum so I would only use the squalane right now. Squalane is very soothing, and will help calm down itching and irritation so that should be quite helpful. But your right - hold off on the other products for at least a week. |
