Hi everyone. After writing a few posts re: md formulations products for my skin type (oily, very blemish prone, previous blemish marks/scars but also sensitive, 24 years old) I have now been reading up on peter thomas roth products, and also ddf. I'm now totally confused. I need a product that will work for me, to reduce oiliness, clear up blemishes that I have and prevent new ones forming. I also have lumps and bumps under the skin that I want rid of. This is my new years resolution and I need your help - soon! Thanks guys! |

If it's your resolution, I suggest going to a dermatologist.
I don't rely on OTC anything to keep me clear.
A nice glycolic acid cleanser w/ the correct pH would be nice if your skin can handle it. I use Jan Marini's Bioglycolic.
Oilyness is a result of hormones and therefore not much can alter it.
A glycolic acid cleanser w/ provide you with chemical exfoliation. Studies have shown they're helpful in temporarily reducing oil on skin. (good for skin texture and pigmentation from past breakouts)
The use of sunscreen also helps dramatically with this.
PTR's blot papers are great...DDF's ultra lite moisturizing dew is nice...but I wouldn't expect them to clear up persistent acne.

Hi there
DDF's Sulfur Therapeutic Mask is amazing for blemishes - especially when you exfoliate beforehand and leave it on overnight. Check this forum and makeupalley for reviews to see Im not the only ranter of this product.
Im also an amazing fan of SircuitSkins X-Zit which you can get from their website. But their stuff is quite pricy, although it does come back with a cast iron money-back guarantee, so theres no harm in trying.
I hope that helps

I second DDF but your skin must be able to bear it as it can cause overdryness. I've been using the glycolic toner, moisturizing dew and brightening cleanser and my skin looks better but it's drier too and well since my acne is hormonal.. blllaaaahh.. i guess i'll learn to live with those pesky black heads and pimples which appears at the time of the month :/ |

I would suggest Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion (and perhaps Medicated Clearing Gel) and also Decleor Essential Balm at night to get rid of the bumps. Some MDF and PTR products are also good. As is the DDF sulphur mask.
Rachael - There are MANY lines that will have a product that is tailored to your skin type. Reading through all of them to decide which one is the best is not really going to work. Everybody has different skin and different products work for them. I suggest you get some samples or buy some trial kits and go from there. |

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll let you know how I get on, when I finally decide which products to go for! |
