What is the best eye makeup remover product?
The only thing I wear is eyeliner. No mascara, no eye shadow.
I'm looking for something that doesn't require a lot of tugging on the delicate eye skin, isn't drying, and that does not break the bank. |

olive oil does a great job... gives my chanel, givenchy, dior, lancome, guerlain, bliss, and make up forever make up remover/waterproof make up remover a good run for its money. actually, i think the olive is better! |

Yves rocher has some good eye makeup removers and often they are 2 for 1 on t heir website.
I like the Gel one they have. For eyeliner it is only ok though.
they have a 2 layer one that is good though. and the camomille one is nice too.
But I have a bunch of Nivea eye makeup remover lotion I am trying to use up as I got them on sale cheaply in a set with other nivea.
The cream seems to work well for eye makeup.
But usually olive oil is cheap and good. I should try that sometime.
I know mineral oil is cheap too andmost chap eye makeup removers use mineral oil and silicone in them.
drugstores sell big bottles of mineral oil very cheap too.
My sister uses the lancome one,but for me that is kind of not my budget right now. |

When you folks talk about olive oil, are you talking about food-grade olive oil, like Bertolli? The kind you use for salad? Really? |

I think it is the regular supermarket olive oil, yes.
Doesn't the olive oil leave a film on your eyes? It does with me and then i worry that whatever product I apply after that will not be able to penetrate properly.
What about witch hazel? I have queried the benefit of using this as general make up remover but nobody replied. |

yup, its the food grade. mom got me the cold pressed olive oil in a dark bottle. i also leave it in the fridge-cuz i'm paranoid.
yes, it makes my eyeballs a bit greasy if i use too much. but it shouldn't hurt cuz its natural.
i use a bit on the cotton swab to remove eye makeup. then i go over my face and eyes with a gentle cream cleanser and that should remove all residue.

Bobbie Brown has the best eye makeup remover. It is very, very gentle and it does a fantastic job of removing liner, mascara, etc. I have used it for years and swear by it. |

I use skin biology's emu oil. Emu oil has so many great qualities...anti inflammatory, healing, and dilutes my copper peptide I apply after cleansing. I use waterproof Diorshow mascara and the emu oil takes it right off!
FYI, Dr. Pickart actually addresses the fact that so many eye makeup removers cause damage to the skin around your eyes on his skin biology web site. |

I second Ilinas's answer, Olive oil, the one you purchase for salad does a good job, in any case I usually follow the Oil Cleansing Method -OCM-. This makes a mixture of oils, usually Castor Oil is used mixed with other oils, I like the mixture 50/50 of Castor Oil with Olive Oil... the proportion depends on if you have dry, oily or normal skin, mine is slightly oily, it takes away even my waterproof mascara... yet I massage a bit and then rub it off carefully with a warm/hot soaked towel, better if it is a microfiber cloth -slightly exfoliating without causing damage to the skin. After this there is no residue of makeup neither of oil, at least from my experience there is no oily residue so the skin is just squeaky clean and you can apply whatever product you wish afterwards. |

Hey Majolenka! I purchase my emu oil from Dr. Pickart's site which iswww.reverseskinaging.com. He also sells emu oil for the scalp and hair, so make sure it's the one dedicated to skin. There are a lot of cheap sources out there to buy it (i have bought on ebay for alot cheaper) but I think Dr. Pickart's is superior. The cheaper ones had a really odd off-putting odor to them. There is an entire thread dedicated to the benefits and details of emu oil. You can read other's opinions there as well! |

I find L'Oreal Eye Makeup Remover the best.
The cost is around $6 for 4 fl. oz. and you can find it in any cosmetics selling store.
They have it with and without oil. I personally like more the Oil-Free version
It's simple and take almost no time to clean your eyes off cosmetics. |

I'll have to give Bobbie Brown a try. I have used Lancome's Biofacil (sp?) and Marcelle's eye makeup remover. If you're using waterproof mascara, Biofacil works really well.
I've been avoiding waterproof mascara lately - I'm convinced that it is playing a part in my thinning lashes. Marcelle works reasonably well, but I think I can do better.
Any other makeup removers you ladies can recommend? I can't handle using oil on my eyes; it inevitably ends up in my eyes. I'd prefer a good oil-free one, since I'm not using waterproof mascara right now. |
