I had a broken blood vessel on my cheek, the size of a tip of a pen. I went to see the dermatologist 3 days ago and he zapped it with the v-beam laser (pulsed dye laser). He said that he would just zap it and it should require no more than one quick treatment. After the appointment the mark was purplish which is normal. It has been 3 days and the purplish mark hasn't disappeared yet, and there is no sign of improvement. Underneath the purplish mark i can see still a bit of red. I've never had this done before so i don't know how long till i actually see improvement. It was supposed to be just a tiny little simple zap of a tiny blood vessel |

I have never had a V-Beam treatment - I have had IPL. With IPL the blood vessels disappear instantly - when the vein is zapped, the blood disperses. If you're not happy with the result, contact your derm straight away and tell him you're concerned. |

I have had V beam and the purplish mark (for me) sort of looks like a bruise. It takes me about 7-10 days for it to completely go away. I get those from IPL's though as well. It turns purple then yellow as it fades.
That's why I always leave myself two weeks after any IPL or laser treatment as I bruise so badly. |
