I've been so good, ever since I joined the forum but this last week, I'm afraid I've undone all the good. Took the family to Mexico, just loved it and wore 30 - 45 spf on my face every day. Still came home with a tan on my face...what do I do??? I love the look of it but know how awful it is for my skin. I thought I was being sooo careful. Suggestions??? |

You did all you could by using those sunblocks. Don't be too hard on yourself. I would just let it go. |

Hope you had a good time for yourself. Life is too short to worry about sun now and then. You must look awesome. It is the day in day out exposure to the sun that does the damage over a long period of time. At this point I would love a little color. Not to worry.

Was your sunscreen photostable? If not, did you reapply every 2-3 hours? Did you apply a sufficient amount? Just some thought... |

Agree with the previous post. You need to reapply the sunscreen every few hours if it isn't photostable. |

Such a double-edged sword with a tan.
When your skin is healthy and you get color from the sun, you look so vibrant and healthy especially if its in the winter and everyone around you is pale.
I still haven't met a self-tanner that makes me look and feel as good as I did in the days of my sun * spam alert * - and my wonderful "sunscreen" of baby oil and hydrogen peroxide. (Cringe!)
I agree that a little sun is okay, and I bet you look great!

Thanks guys, it DOES look good but that sun is sooo hot down there and I really was trying to avoid burning my skin...my bronzing gel makes me look however tan I want to! Which sunscreens are photostable? It was weird too, because every a.m. I woke with puffy eyes and I NEVER do usually. I'm sure the saltwater isn't a great help either...but boy, did we have fun!
Happy New Year everyone and here's to a healthy, safe and peaceful new year....everywhere. ![Pray](images/smiles/eusa_pray.gif) |
