I am always curious about those great beauty finds from other countries..not necessarily high end stuff but just the local tradtional products that can be great! For example here in Greece we have great pure olive oil soap ...tradtional Lavender and Jasmin scent...etc...
I am curious to find out your discoveries or those of you from abroad what are your tradtional and local beauty products! Thanks! |

Hi carlita,
I was born in London and I'm of African-Caribbean dissent, I can tell you some great British ranges which I use:-
1. Crabtree & Evelyn – going for nearly 30 years not only traditional beauty products (soaps, hand & foot creams etc. but they’re have added a few new ranges which are excellent).
2. Elemis – A wonderful Salon range with fantastic natural products sources around the work.
3. Cosmetics a la carte – A great handmade cosmetic range with added skincare benefits.
Now my African-Caribbean part will tell you of some great natural remedies learnt from my mother who is 80 this year and only has a few wrinkles.
1. Paw paw or Papaya – peel, get rid of the seeds, put in a bowl and mash and apply to the face – it’s a great skin brightener.
2. Aloe Vera plant – cut a leaf from this cactus, split the leaf in half and get out all the gooey / slimy stuff from inside and apply to the face, it works as a wonderful mask, not only brightens but also soothes, plus its great when you apply it to burns.
3. Coco butter – The natural 100% solid type, simply melt and apply to the skin its wonderful as a body softener and moisturiser the skin simply glows.
Happy. |
