I have been shaving my upper lip for about 5 years. I started when I was very self conscious of the hair on my upper lip. It all went well for a few weeks but soon I realized that I had to keep shaving it more often because it grew out stubbly. Worse off, the skin on my upper lip began to show a greenish undertone. I was shy about it so I didn't tell anyone. I kept shaving it because I felt I had no choice but now I am very tired of doing so. Anyone know any product that could help my condition? Would bleaching it make a difference or should I just try waxing it? HELP! |

I'm not sure, but I think it's a combination of friction and thin skin on the upper lip. I thread/wax/epilate it off and don't have obvious green cast/shadow.
My underarms that I shaved for years look grey all the time now, even though I've switched to waxing for the past 10 years. I don't know if skin tone has anything to do with it, my sister is much darker in skintone and her under arms are so smooth and light (she never shaved).
If it's really bothering you and your skin can handle it maybe try permenant hair removal? |

If you are a candidate for lasers, you could get a series of treatments to kill off the hair follicles.....it does cost money though!Electroylsis works, but you have to go in for a bunch of treatments and it can leave you with discolored skin patches too.(hurts too) |

I've never heard of greenish undertone from shaving. Maybe it's from the type of razor? You should probably see a dermatologist... |

WIP- Word of caution.. I was badly burned on my upper lip and lip due to a laser treatment. It actually burned other areas of my face as well where the laser "scattered". It's been very traumatic physically as well as psychologically. Please check out this forum before choosing lasers. Thanks and good luck

I have fine blonde hair on my face, like peach fuzz and I shave it once a week. Supposedly one reason men look younger facially is because all that shaving is a form of exfoliation. I can see if you had dark hair you'd look like you had five o'clock shadow. |
