Hi,
I had this treatment in a beauty salon in England early in 2004. During the treatment I found that my spots healed quicker and I got fewer new ones. My skin also felt and looked brighter and fresher. I can't say that I am honestly seeing those results now though. I don't know if this is because I no longer have the treatment, maybe it's an idea to have a course and then a maintenance treatment every few months? Hope this helps, it's just my opinion but everyone has different results so I would still go for it! |

Hi Maham
I have a few very light acne scars (now) and I can honestly say Decleor's Prolagene Gel and Cellex C's Fade Away Gel are absolutely the best thing. They really, truly work.
Check out reviews online for them and see for yourself.

Amazingly, I logged on to see what the scoop on IPL was here -- and here's your query!
So *I'll* tell *you* ... my best friend got this done a week ago. She is a Hollywood actress, and so is UP on all the latest available miracles. She is also known for her GORGEOUS skin, and looks easily ten, if not fifteen, years younger than she is, thanks to a topnotch face lift and wearing a scarf and gloves when she sits in traffic in the southern California sun.
I tell you all this, so you know she's no flake. She's not famous, either -- just a working actress. Which is a lot.
I saw her yesterday, a week after the treatment. She looked like she had had a bad sunburn, and was still slightly swollen, so if you are being told this is a lunchtime thing, it's not. She was peeling pretty well, and showed me the sun damage that had been brought to the top layer by the IPL. Amazing. It will peel off, too. She said "It all looks good now, except where it hasn't peeled."
SHE is very pleased. I can't tell a difference, frankly. And she has no acne scars, although some hyper pigmentation was pokking through.
I don't know the cost, but she said it wasn't painful (feels like a rubber band being snapped gently against your cheek), it took about an hour and a half, all totalled, and the acid they put on beforehand didn't burn or hurt. That's all I can remember. I was too jealous to listen to more. It's way out of my league right now.
HTH and doesn't confuse you further. . .

I had one treatment (in an effort to kill newly sprouted menopausal hair). As my skin is prone to hyperpigmentation the person checked with "a physician" over the phone to determine the setting for the treatment. My understanding is they used a very low setting. I did not hyperpigment but I now have a visible patch of HYPOpigmentation. I didn't go back. |
