Hi,
Just wondering how many times a week can we apply mask on our face ? I have more than 5 masks at home...ranging from hydration, purifying, radiance, whitening masks.... so am wondering if i can apply a different mask every day each throughout the week? will it harm the skin? |

Best time for Mask:
Using masks after taking a bath or showering brings better results as the steam from the bath cuases pores to dilate, thereby enhancing absorption of the mask's nutrients.
Exfoiliation or Cleansing Mask
(e.g. mud mask, deep cleansing mask...)
It is for removing outermost layer of dead skin cells. Good things are:
- clean clogged pores and tightening
- stimulates circulation (when removing)
- improves skin elasticity
- prepare skin for better nutrient absorption afterwards
It cannot be apply everyday. Overdoing it will damage the first layer of skin (undeveloped keratinious cells exposes to external damge)
*Recommended 1-2 times per week.
Directly after the cleansing mask, you follow by hydrating or whitening mask.
Hydrating Mask & whitening Mask
Since you have so many masks, I think you may try hydrating mask in the morning
and whitening mask before you sleep.
Hydrating Mask
*Recommended 2-3 times per week.
I use it depends on weather and my skin condition, I use it when i feel dry or I see fine lines appeared or too much oil on my face. So, there's no fix timetable.
Whitening Mask
Use it according to the instruction, mostly
*Recommended 1-2 times per week.
it usually comes with hydrating ingredients, so I won't use it on the same day with hydrating mask.
Don't use it when u got sunburnt, swollen or when u see any allergic symptons.
I read from an articles stating that 12mid-night to 3am is the time that skin is most active for repairing damged cells. So, applying it before 12 midnight is the best time and the nutrients will be absorbed more easily.
So, as long as your 5 masks are not Exfoiliation or Cleansing, Skin-Renewal type of mask, I think it's no harm to your skin to use everyday.
But if I were u, I won't do it your way.
What's ur current skin conditions?

Hi Ming,
Thanks for the detailed information. I have combination skin. So how often do you mask your face ? I usually apply whitening mask every alternate days and use purifying mask twice a week. and sometime, after a purifying mask, i follow immediately with a hydrating mask.
Not sure if i am doing it correctly or not. |

oh, u r online, my connection to this forum is very slow........add me to ur ICQ
What products u are using?
Currently, I got Jurlique Mud, Avon volcano mud, Zara mud mask.
PTR Oxygen Mask, Sothys Oxygen Mask
Kose blackheads Mask, Avon hydrating mask, Swissline eye mask.
I use them when I needed, I don't have fix time table for applying.
general rule is , after anyday that I came home and my skin looks very oily or dirtly, then after bathing deep cleansing mask, then hydrating mask.
Usu. weekends will do one time oxygen mask, I'm sure I won't do more than one time per week.
The blackheads mask, I will do max. 3 times a week.

eye mask only when i see fine lines under eyes, approx. 2 times per month
Actually, Skinceuticals B5 gel is very good hydrating product, I don't need much to use hydrating mask often~ |
