Are you weak or are you strong? What *IS* your resolution for 2005? Is it still in tact?
Mine (no more buying stuff until I use up what I have) was intact until about 10 minutes ago when I found out that the founder of Bare Minerals has a new mineral makeup line called ColoreScience http://www.colorescience.com (handy packaging with all-in-one brush applicator etc etc). Purchase has been made - bye bye (or rather buy buy) new years resolution! That didn't take long did it! Mind you, I guess it was a tad unrealistic...
On the brighter side I'll let you all know in a few weeks if the new line is worth it I got:
Colorescience Face Colore - Perfekt (spf 20)
Colorescience Face Freshener - Be Still
Colorescience Genie Sparkle Bottle - Grapes Of Wrath
Colorescience Brush Cleaner Spray
Wonder if EDS will carry this... If it's good then I hope so 'coz the foundation is US$55 (refill is cheaper though) |

Tsk Tsk! I'm currently still on the wagon although I did order a few things on the 30th and 31st and am waiting for them to arrive. I tend to make my own rules.
The day spa I go to is thinking about carrying the colorscience line although I can't imagine it being any better to me than Jane Iredale. I'd be willing to try it though!

You're 'avin' a laugh aint'cha!
Grant cheque came in today and I blew 10% on a cardi by rick owens. It was on ebay so not full price, but I'm shaking in my boots about guapaboy finding out! Otherwise, I shall continue with not smoking or doing illegals, try and get a bit fitter (I think I need a pair of MBTs to help me with that ) and stop surfing the net and do some college work.
Damn, haven't been that good after all |

I have so many resolutions, I don't know where to start....but I've already forfeited a few of them.
Stop smoking -- not! I lasted a few days and then caved. This is THE MOST important one, so I haven't given up on it...just on the backburner as now is not a good time to tackle this one. But I do feel horrible about spending gobs of money on skin care, when I know my smoking is probably negating any benefits I can hope to gain from products -- but I like to tell myself that at least all the goop I put on my face will keep the wolves at bay (read wrinkles) until I actually do quit!
I too must curtail my spending - not just on skin care and makeup either, mind you. I totally lost all authority over my credit card last year and it ran amuk all year spending wildly in the most unlikely places...so it's time to lay down the law. Sephora just opened a store in Toronto, where I live, and I have a gift certificate I really want to spend, but I know if I go in there, I'm doomed....so must avoid that place at all costs...at least for a little while.
And the usual exercise, eat better, drink more water, etc., resolutions, which hopefully I can turn into healthy habits instead of forced resolutions.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my resolutions....maybe writing them out will help them stick!

Gosh! This is serious .... I've always start with a long list of new year resolutions, but very soon it's all *puff* gone. Anyway, here is my list:
To exercise (no more I'll start tomorrow crap ), drink more water (tough ...), go to bed earlier and get up earlier (tough, tough ... ) |

To be a kinder, more gracious and caring person - both outside and inside. "Inside" means to start with better thoughts - you know how some times you may be smiling at the other person, but can be actually fuming or cursing on the inside - I am trying to cut down on negative thoughts. That way, I'd probably need less Alphaderma CE on those frown lines....
Anyway, that should not be problem today - I am the lucky winner of EDS voucher. I am not gloating...just happy (grinning like a silly fool now)
Cheers

Resolutions....let's see if I have any:
(1) Finish my Ph.D, preferably by June (grant runs out on Aug. 1st), so would like to submit sometimes in early June
(2) Be more efficient, and less restless! (difficult, since restlessness is an important part of my personality)
(3) Keep up the good work with exercising LESS (I used to be a gymaholic, if there's such a thing)
(4) WASTE less money, buy less beautyproducts (that's the tough one. The main culprit is haircare....) |

Hmm.. well, we have a few resolutions, but a couple we wont be starting on till later this month (takes us that long to get organized and get rid of visitors)
1. go to bed earlier and get up earlier (oh, that is proving hard as have already tried to start that)
2. spend less (ie. pay off CC and save some $$) - that is going quite well thus far (well, considering it is Jan. 6th that aint saying much)
3. improve our health (in all senses - eat better, get more exercise, and get more fresh air -- if that is possible in Tokyo)
4. keep the apartment clean and tidy so weekends are not spent cleaning up our Monday-Friday piggy messes.
5. there are some professional goals as well to be achieved by the end of the year!
6. MOST important one I saved till last - BE ORGANIZED, EFFICIENT, and PROMPT/RELIABLE ( , does that just mean, dont be lazy?) |

Good to see most of your resolutions are still intact! Here's hoping that we can all pull through (I've decided to amend mine to "spend less on skincare").
Guapagirl - have you heard any more about the MBTs? I still think they're fugly (at least the ones I've seen) but if they're going to do the exercise for me and get rid of cellulite..... Btw, found results of a small study on effects of MBTs. Can't find the shoes in Aus though |

Good and bad I think. Good = increased use of stabiliser muscles. Bad = less stable shoes therefore higher risk of falling. |

I think I have been able to keep part of mine...since the beginning of this week, I've been a good girl and hasn't slept in one single morning, and in addition, I've written parts (11 pages, to be exact, filled with technicalities) of a paper I have been putting off) Let's hope I can continue my writing up in this tempo, and I'll be able to submit in March (welcome to Utopia ) |

to give up smoking - again.
I gave up for 3 or 4 years without any problems at all, but then slipped up one and a half years ago.
I have to get back on the wagon now. I've got chronic bronchitus and it's really disgusting. I can't believe I'm still smoking with it.
The plan this time was to give up en route back to China from London. A forced 12 fag-free hours should have helped, but alas I'd left some handy cigs at my flat in case I ran out so after travelling for a day and a half; two flights and a long bus haul it was too much to resist.
I've just finished them, I'm washing the ashtray and today is the beginning.
We'll see.

Molly,
I know how tough it can be. Unfortunately I'm also a smoker who needs to quit and I'm worming and psyching my way up to it.
I'll still keep you in my thoughts.
