Hello all! Been reading lots of threads and getting a ton of information from all of you.
I'm 25 years old and I'd like to start a slightly more vigorous anti-aging regimen and wanted to get some advice from you skincare gurus
I have had a history of moderate acne and sensitive skin (been dealing with it for over a decade). My current routine keeps me fairly clear (with help from BC and using a topical treatment called Ziana [clindamycin phosphate 1.2% and tretinoin 0.025%] every night).
I've been using Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion (10% AHA) regularly for almost 3 years, along with Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Sun-Damage sunscreen and just recently (about 2 months ago) started adding jojoba oil to my moisturizers morning and night.
Is there anything you think I should add to buff up my anti-aging attack? |

Hello there, and welcome!
I think you're on the right track! Keep doing what you're doing, and sunscreen your neck and hands as well, avoid the sun, and avoid squinting and frowning and such.
And make sure that if you experience any sensitivity, to back off the AHA especially or any new products that you might suspect: because irritation is damaging and aging.
You might consider adding a gentle anti-oxidant serum underneath your sunscreen for prevention and soothing. I love Olay Regenerist regenerating serum fragrance-free for this, because in addition to other AOXs it has niacinamide, a B-vit which is good against acne and irritation and probably wrinkles too. A more powerful but still gentle AOX serum is Topix Replenix CF Cream (for dry/winter) or Serum (for summer/oily).
Looking ahead, you might want to try a Vit C serum in a few years, but since C can be irritating, it would be good to have a gentle serum to start with.
Cheers,
Kay |
