Hi!

Some background info:

Age: 26
S: Male
Ethnicity: White

I did a TCA a while ago and posted in a panic unsure about the reaction I got from the chemicals, which I realize now is just normal. I did another season now about a month later, but now I feel like it's not doing as much as it is supposed to.

Lets start of by telling you what kind of peel I am doing. I am doing a Jessners + TCA peel. The soution strength of the TCA is 20%. I cleaned my face in shower, shaved and later applied rubbing alcohol on face shortly before beginning the peel. I put the solutions into little dishes and used a cotton pad to soak some and gently rub on face. I did 2 coats of Jessners peel waiting about 2 minutes between first layer to do second. I did not see very much frosting except for little spots (between eye brow and one corner of my forhead). I then did one layer of TCA and my skin hardly changed. I would say some areas became very lightly frosted but I'd dare say even level 1. I did two more layers about 3 minutes apart and just didnt seem to see any type of frosting that you'd expect from that. It was a very light white on some places and pink around the corners of the eye.

My understanding is a frosting with pink is a mild frosting but the skin seemed sensitive when I touched it so I didn't proceed to do a 4th layer even though I would say it was a level 1 frosting at best.

Does this mean I should be using a stronger strength TCA or do more layers?

I definitely spreading on my face pretty evenly and it definitely stang a lot for the first 45 seconds of each layer. Do you think I will get a decent peel from this?

Any feedback or experience is helpful! I have seem pictures where the entire face is a very distinct white frost and I wanted to get there but I can't tell if the pink skin is normal and needs to be pushed a little further to frost or if it is pushed far enough and just isn't going to frost.

Wondering how you peeled after that Jess/TCA peel. Sounds like you should have peeled well with that much chemical being applied.

I have done a Jess/20%TCA peel before and peeled the BEST EVER compared to a plain TCA. Sheets of skin peeled and the tone increase was much better.

Did you prep before the peel by consistently using Retin A for 6 weeks or weekly glycolic or LA peels for 6 weeks? The use of these products allow for your skin to absorb the Jess/TCA peel much better. It's recommended to use acetone vs alcohol to defat and ensure the skin is squeaky clean.

The only other thing I can think of would be to verify you have a medical grade peel - low pH and pure.
