This product turned out to be a pleasant surprise. When I ordered it on a whim, I really didn’t know what to expect. Actually, it wasn’t really a whim, just that I had used nearly every single C serum out there and wasn’t getting any visible results. I kept telling myself I was protecting my skin from damage and should be happy with that, but my wallet wasn’t buying it. I was also tired of C serums turning orange before I was halfway through…sometimes strange floaty things would appear. Before anyone mentions it, I can’t DIY to save my life. The one time I tried the dog got to it and was glowing in the dark for a couple of days.
The 2 serums I did get results from ere Vivier and Skinmedica. Cons: I didn’t like the oily feel of Vivier after a while although I did get nice, glowy skin. Skinmedica works great but I don’t think it’s for the layer-happy. It works best alone.
Along comes Jan Marini C-esta. One of the reasons I found EDS 5 years ago was to order it…but I got side-tracked with by many other serums. I read the blurb on the C-esta serum with a jaundiced eye and hoped it would give me half the results it promised. Before I ordered I spoke with the JM rep about the ingredients, specifically DAE. I don’t remember the list, but my ears perked up when I heard “DMAE” and tyrosine (sp). This was starting to sound like an anti-aging serum more than a C serum.
It’s a thin milky liquid that smells a bit like pina colada. It dissipates quickly and I’m addicted to the scent now. All you need is a few drops and it’s absorbed immediately.
After about 2-3 weeks I started noticing supple, firm, healthy looking skin .It was working as advertised, what a shock! At this point, I added in the peptide extreme serum and using both together really amped up the results. The C-esta can easily be used with other products. C-esta is used twice a day and is compatible with retinol and acids. I’ve used it with KH VK2 in the morning and didn’t feel like I had layers of products on. It also isn’t ridiculously expensive. I’d like to personally thank the brilliant people at skinceuticals for pulling out of Canada; otherwise I never would have tried this serum.
In the interst of full disclosure, I've set aside the peptide extreme & I'm giving ZO a try...be interesting to compare results. I still use the KH VK2 on top though. |

Mmmm, so tempting! Vivier is one of my favourites, but I happen to like the texture of it. Skinceuticals and Cellex-C also did a good job but they turn orange WAY too quickly. I have tried JM C-Esta serum before but the oil control version (http://www.essentialdayspa.com/jan-marini-c-esta-serum-o-p_1674.htm) and not the one you have used. I don't think I ended up finishing it, it was grainy, turned orange, and I didn't see much results from it relative to the other serums I had finished using at the time (which would be some of the ones I mentioned above).
Thanks for the review! |

Would you believe it's my first review I didn't try the oil-control for that exact reason, plus I don't know if they ever fixed the pump issue. This is one serum I can live with. If you use it 2X a day as recommended, it doesn't stand a chance of turning yellow. |

No, I honestly don't, RussianSunshine! It was quite a few years ago that I used it. I know that on the old YTF forum, there were several ladies that really liked it! |
