Hi,
I am 69, (soon to be 70) have good skin, fine and smooth, but a tad dry. I'm looking for something basically to improve firmness, especially around the jawline, and soften fine lines. I purchased Clarins Super Restorative Serum and found it dried my skin even more, although I'm sure it works fine on many people. I'd like something not as expensive, if there is such a thing, one-step. Something you can use on your whole face. Your tips and advice are appreciated. |

I think you would really love the Elizabeth Grant serums from the shopping channel. Shes on the 15-16th Jan weekend. Check it out. Its her 86th birthday celebration and shes bound to have some excellent buys. If you want 24 hr hydration, this is the one to get. |

Thank you, Susie. I guess you can't get this stuff at your local drug story. |

Hello,
My first suggestion woudl be Yonka Elastin Nuit which will accomplish exacetly what you want. It is $$$$$ but worth every cent!!!
If you are looking for a drugstore product, I am hearing good things about Olay Regenerist. But I tend to be sensitive to drugstore products. I'd rather put the $30 toward the Yonka. You should treat yourself, afterall, your soon celebrating 70 and you are surfing the net, using chat forums, internet shopping, etc. You go girl !!!!!
I'm so impressed, I've been trying to explain to my dad how to use the internet but it seems hopeless!!!!
Oh, Jurlique Herbal Recovery GEl is awesome. It's knwo in hollywood as a "facelift in a bottle" but I do find you need a layer of moisturizer over it, espically in winter. |

Hi, Miss Shoes,
Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I've been computer literate for many years in my work as a writer and voiceover. Doesn't help my face, though.- I really appreciate all the great advice. I'm happy to report the drug store took back the Clarin Super Restorative Serum, no problem, and I returned to my Vichy Lift. It's a good moisturizer, Activ, even if it doesn't offer a magical solution. I will be checking out your other suggestions in the future. |

Glad to hear they took back the Clarins.
FYI, Serums & gels I find act more as treatments/corrective but don't really moisturize. If you do use a serum or gel, you usually need to apply moisture after.
EDS is great at including samples with your order, all you do is request them in the "comments" box at the end of the online order.
Dr. Haushka Rose Day Cream is an excellent, fairly inexpensive cream. You could order this from EDS first, request samples to try, and then order again when you know exactly what you want.
Take Care,
Andrea |

Without a doubt at your age I would recommend AlphaDermaCE and their Prep. I am 59 soon to be 60 this month. AlphaDermaCE has everything you need in one 4 oz. or 1 oz. bottle to make your skin firmer and less lines and wrinkles. I have been using this Janson-Beckett line for 6 months now and have had dramatic results. My face and neck look so much younger. Besides Argireline at 10%,Collagen, Elastin, DMAE, Alpha L. Acid, Soy, AlphaDerma has a sunscreen of 15. From the very first time you use it you can see a difference in your skin.
For the past 1 1/2 months I have taken a sales position in MA for the company. It is easy for me to sell a product that delivers. Truely, I think you will be amazed.
In my opinion is is important to use the Mineral Prep under the AlphaDerma as it increases Cell Emergy so the product results are enhanced.
If you want more information on this product please feel free to PM or email me. I will be happy to answer any of your questions concerning. I also noted today the EDS will soon be carry the Janson-Beckett line.I was so happy to see this on another post this morning.

Thank you, Winnie. Since I have dry skin, do you recommend using a moisturizer with your product. Also, could I continue to use my Vichy LiftActiv which I like very much. Yes, feel free to send me more info, including price.

Joan,
I'd wait for Winnie's reposnse but just thought I'd let you know that my mum has very dry skin and she uses a vitamin C serum (Vivier), JB skin prep gel and the ADCE without the need for anything else. She's very happy with this skin regime and is getting great results. |

For about a month now, I've been using Emu oil, put it on by itself at night and during the day mix it with whatever face lotion I'm using. Really soaks into the skin, and really only need a few drops or you'll be greased out.
Also, Na-PCA, mixed into your lotions, body or face lotion will really hydrate your your skin too. I've been reading soooo much about ingredients in creams, and I have learned alot, and a trick I do is when I mix my creams, in my palm of my hand, I'll also add a drop or two of dimethicone, which eliminates any tacky, sticky or oily feeling and am left with a totally smooth velvety texture, which everyone says wow your skin is flawless, which it is far far from that. |

Suz....I'm curious about the dimethicone. Where do you get it? I like to mix products as well, and sometimes the "mix" can leave my skin feeling a bit tacky/oily....would love to know more about this. Interesting trick! |

I found under "lotion making supplies" you can order dimethicone which is a silicone that is used in cosmetics, shampoos, lotions and creams for that silky feeling, and that is where I ordered it from. |

I second the recommendation of Dr. H.'s Rose Day Cream. A little goes so far and it really hydrates. I've always used eye creams and sometimes, I just pat the Rose Day Cream all over my face and neck and even my eyes, so I don't need another eye cream. Its very thick so I smoosh it between my finger under it gets all soft and warm and then pat...it feels wonderful and is not pricey.
one more thing I added some DeCleor Aromesscence Angelique to my NaPCA which I've using as a mist lately. Suz, you're the first person to mention NaPCA besides me on this forum...I've been using it for years. |

That is interesting about the Na-PCA, because 20 or so years ago I read a book which I still refer to called "Life Extensions", which discussed cell rejuvenation, cross linking, vitamins to slow the process etc. Very good book, and what is kind of funny to me is that today it's more stressed about how important preserving our "make-up" is than ever. So I'm glad for that book, kept me conscience of how I treat my body, not that I also haven't had cosmetic surgery, because time stops for no one, but preservation I think is the key. |

Thank you for giving me that info, but now I'm going to sound like an idiot, ha ha, I still don't see where that part is, is it at the very top of this page or where? I'm sorry, and really, I appreciate your help in learning how to do this. |

Well this time I did (exactly) what you said,
IT WORKED! Thanks, it was me just not being familiar with this layout of the page. Thank you!!!! I get it now.
Anyway the book, Life Extensions, well the first few cover pages are gone, as it was a thick paper back, very thick, 3", and when they came loose, they went. I will look though on the internet, maybe it will, well should be there. |

Just found it on amazon.com, was looking for the authors, there is a picture and the authors, and yes that's it. Life Extensions, by Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw, it was under 4.00, sure was more 20 years ago, but I'm sure there's many more books out there with the same info. |
