I have to worse skin you can imagine. My skin is greasy oily but yet dry and
flaky. I have regular acne that consist of little bumps all over my whole face
and sore pimples that come up with pus. I have pitted scars from acne and some
laser treatments. Then on top of that I have red flushed skin with broken caps
that on my face, ears, neck and chest. But dont let me forget I have seb
dermatitis too. I cant find a cleanser or a moisturiser that I can use on all of
these problems. Is there anyone else out there like me? I cant use antibiotics
right now because I am 11 weeks pregnant. Finacea makes my skin so flaky and
dry. I am so embarrassed to leave my house and go out in daylight. I wont even
look people in the face. I hated the pitted scars on my face. This is suppose
to be a happy time for me but I feel like crying. Please someone help me. |

Was your skin always like this? If not, it may be attributed to the surge of hormones during pregnancy and it's best to lay off any treatments or chemicals at the time. Even though you're putting them on your face, it can still get absorbed into the bloodstream.
Also, what products are you currently using now? |

My skin was like this before I got pregnant. Its been like this for years. Im using Paula's Choice One Step cleanser for dry skin because its more of a creamy cleanser and does not irritate my rosacea. Im back and forth with moisturisers because I cant find one to use. I use Estee Double Wear makeup and thats it. |

I have some similar problems. I just started The Body Shop's Aloe cleanser and Aloe calming night cream. So far so good. They gave me huge samples upon request. The Aloe line has no fragrance, dyes, parabens, etc.. Sounds safe for use in pregnancy. I noticed less redness and flaking right away. Try some samples! My skin doesn't feel tight and dry with this cleanser. |

Hi,
I can tell you what has helped me. I use Obagi Rosaclear Cleanser and Sunblock. The cleanser is gentle, non-drying and doesn't flare up my rosacea. The sunblock has this miraculous ability to calm my skin down instantly, might be due to the high zinc oxide concentration plus it has a slight tint which helps cover up redness.
And if Finacea is too drying, then try Azelex instead. It's a cream version but not too heavy or greasy. |

Fulloflove--
First, I would switched to an all natural mineral makeup. Bare Escentuals is the most famous one but I believe contains bismuth which some ppl are allergic to, but there definitely lots of other brands that are more pure. I think the Estee Lauder makeup is pretty thick and has a lot of unnatual ingredients that may impede the healing process and promote further damage.
I would also advise you to check the Garden of Wisdom forum and site, they have a lot of discussions about pregnancy and what ingredients are safe and which ones to avoid. I used to have terrible skin but with research and diligence, I now have skin that I like very much. Good luck! |

Two products that I know work for Rosacea are
Paulas Choice Skin Relief Treatment which includes stabilized aspirin, green tea, vitamin c, and it does what it claims to reduce and take out redness in your skin by calming it with its high concentration of Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid).
And the other product is Osmosis Mend or Calm.
Read up on the reviews on makeupalley on them for further assurance. |

The skincare line that has worked miracles for my skin is Osmosis. There is a thread here on EDS:

My skin wasn't in as bad a shape as you are describing, but it was irritated & inflamed. I had red-scaly spots on my cheeks. My sensitive skin responds better to natural lines; Osmosis has completely healed my skin, but you have to allow it some time to work. I noticed a difference immediately, but it took a couple of weeks for it to completely heal.
Good Luck |
