Can anyone offer help? I am trying to narrow down the list of possible culprits.
This week I have used Diva Nora Guerlain, really like it. Last night after a particularly stressful evening, I tried Midnight Secret, another Guerlain product
I also tried early yesterday morning a sample of Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion - just once.
I use the SkinCeuticals products for the most part and have been happy with them for several months now.
Oh yes, I smeared a little self-tanner on my arms, neck and chest yesterday.
TODAY, when I noticed my skin was a little
dry, I stuck to the usual routine.
This evening, my chin is covered in hives. I am afraid to put ANYTHING on my face yet I feel very dry.
Anyone have a guess as to which product did me this "dirty deed?" I am so unversed with regard to specific ingredients.
ALSO, has anyone used the Benedryl aloe topical gel on their face? Will this clog my pores.
Oh what is a girl to do? Forgive my panic, but I just don't want to exacerbate the problem, nor do I want to let it go hoping it will disappear on it's own......

ok, everytime I break out in hives I create a paste with baking soda and water and smear it on the skin for a while. It can get messy!
As for which product did it, I can't help. It might be the combination of too many things at once! I'm not sure about the topical benadryl, I'd just use the oral one! I've used the coppertone aloe on my face and had very clogged pores from it, but most of my skin products do contain aloe in it...so I'm not sure what to say!
Try the paste and stick to the products you've been using for a long time, then slowly introduct these new products one at a time to catch the bad one. |

Sorry to hear your dilemma, I believe with too many cream you've used you can't really tell who's the culprit.
Perhaps you may want to stop and then apply them again but make sure to use it one at a time for a week and see for yourself if you're going to have an allergic reaction or not. At least you can say which one it did or it did not.
Try to use Aveeno for your hives. Try a small amount first of course. It has no cortizone and it's quite gentle. I am not sure if it dries your skin, but it helps on those hives. hth... |

Thanks for checking in. And thank you for all of the suggestions.
I don't think my nightmare is quite over yet. I still have raised patches that are a little red, I thing I jumped the gun calling them hives though, I have had the hives so many times, I just attributed this to more of the same. Funny thing is, the irritation is only on either side of my chin. It looks as if I drew a line straight down from each corner of my mouth. Almost like a puppet.
An angry looking puppet.
Anyway, I have been afraid to put anything on it so I might just be doing more harm than good drying it out. It does look a little better though. Time will tell.
Thanks again. |

Could it be a burn of some sort?
I was cooking pasta once and didn't use the timer so I spooned out a noodle and went to eat it and spilled boiling water down my chin. I had some NICE BIG blisters on my lip and chin. |
