After my recent trip to Italy, I developed these tiny bumps at the sides of my cheeks that irk me no end.
I can feel them with my fingers, I see them but they are just bumps quite deep in my skin that I don't dare venture squeezing them.
I know I am not suppose to squeeze them but I don't think they will ever resolve if I can't get them to the surface. Even if I nurse them diligently now, they would just reduce in size but would be just like dormant volcanoes, ever ready to erupt once I take one wrong step.....
Can some one help?? It's driving me nuts to think that just couple of weeks ago, I thought my skin looked great

The only thing that has helped me with the same problem is AHA (Alpha hydroxy acid). The stronger the percentage the better. Also glycolic acid IN MODERATION helps too!

I would suggest consulting a dermatologist to find out what exacty these bumps are. They could be clogged pores, or a rash, or something else. |

Thks liane and blg83.
I think I will first try the AHA. If not, I see the doc.

From your description it sounds like congested skin - i.e. blocked pores. My skin has a tendency to have such problems. I don't get pimples that often but if I don't use the right products I'll get little bumps under the skin (that are visible at certain angles up close) particularly on my forehead.
Things that have worked well to control it for me: Decleor Essential Balm, MDF Cleanser (or the Physician's Choice cleanser for problem prone skin - it's fab!) and Dermalogica Microfoliant. I'm also going to add Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream because when I started using that my skin was happy and not getting any bumps. |

Thks Mabsy
I think I will put in an order for MDF cleanser - it has worked well for me in the past (especially when I travelled). Even I was in Thailand (humid and a little grimmy), the MDF kept clogged pores at bay. It's just that I don't like to use it often for my dry skin.
I am also very tempted about Dr H's cleansing cream but am hesitant cos his Rose Day Cream does not agree well with my skin. A pimple or 2 will appear every time I use it. Also, the application sounds complicated - is it true?
Thks

Nah, not really. It's just a simple process of kneading and pressing the cream into your skin rathen than just scrubbing all over - that's all. |
