i have bought 40% glycolic acid from these guys once before, and used it all up, and was really happy with it (apart from a silly episode when i got carried away one week and did a little bit of an embarrassing burn, but learnt my lesson!)
my skin and my husbands skin is looking and feeling awesome!
we did 6 weeks of peels, once a week, for 3 mins, with 4 weeks off, and are just doing our 2nd cycle now...
when i was trying to work out who to buy it from, i looked at their feedback, which was good, and decided to go for it...
i just got a new order from them....pure peptides,( which is hyaluronic acid, with some added vit c ,matrixacyl (sp?),jojoba oil etc in it, ) a bottle of triple refined emu oil (which i have never tried before, and have to keep quite about to my dh as we don't eat meat, and i would get in trouble for using it from him! ) a bottle of 70 % glycolic acid (which i plan to use for stretchmarks from pregnancy, as the 40% doesn't even tingle my skin and my body) and a further bottle of 50% glycolic acid to progress to (as the 40 % barely gives us a sting anymore, although it use to hurt like hell!)
she also sent me a full size wrinkle cream full of natural sounding goodies in it, which was really kind!
i mixed a few drops of the hyaluronic acid with the emu oil and have used it a few times ,and its lovely! absorbs quickly and looks really nice...
i used to use the cellex c vit c serum and also their hyaluronic acid, but stopped as everytime it ran out, i would go for months before i could replenish it, as it was expensive, so i kind of thought i would look on ebay and see what the products were like...
i kind of stayed away from the sellers that sold stuff i thought was too strong, like those that sell the 100% tca etc! i just kind of thought that skin care must not be their prime motivation if they are selling such strong stuff???
i googled a bit and didnt find much about asdm beverly hills, just the odd thing, and never saw anyone really mention buying from any ebay sellers on the forums, but i just thought they were inexpensive enough that if it turned out not to be that great, i would just chalk it up to experience...
all the products i mentioned above, cost me approx £41, (or $66) inc shipping ,which i thought was reasonable...
i am actually really impressed with the products...i have never used any other glycolic peel ,or emu oil before, however to compare it to (although i have used hyaluronic acid before) to be fair, but my skin is looking fantastic as a result of using them...
has anyone else used this brand???
what about other ebay brands that are worth trying? / avoiding???
i am going to do a tca peel in winter...maybe a 15% to start with, but i am not game to try one of those from an ebay seller, and will go with MUAC or one of the other recommended brands, if someone has a recommendation of any better one?
i have fair skin that burns easily and freckles...i am 37, but still pass for mid 20's, although i have had two basal cell carcinomas on my back already, so it was a conversation with the skin cancer doctor that got me researching about glycolic peeling etc, to help reduce sundamage and hopefully lessen the amount of future skin cancers that will pop up in the future.... he said all this kind of stuff, peels, ipl, laser, and photodynamic therapy will have a positive effect in skin cancer prevention (bcc and scc) and also have the added cosmetic benefit of improving my skin, at which point my ears pricked up, and i was interested...so that is how i started doing all of this, much to the dismay of my husband ,who had a preconception of what a "skin peel" was, and thought i would end up looking like jocelyn wildenstyn or something!
needess to say, i convinced him to try just one, and then he could have an honest opinion of whether it was harmful and helpful, and needless to say , he is hooked too!!!
later on, i will ask for some suggestions of whatever other fun things we can try on our skin!
he is mixed race (black/white) so has quite different skin from me, but the glycolic has been wondrous on both of us!!!
i wouldn't mind getting rid of some freckles on my face...they're not too bad, but i prefer none, and i want to keep my skin looking young and fabulous...
i'm guessing a routine where you mix up a few series of different peels etc would be good, but not really sure what yet...
maybe lactic acid for my type skin, and some mandelic acid for his skin???
also, is there anyway to reduce the appearance of pores on the nose etc, or is it a futile effort???
sorry for the long post!

I'm 41, with olive skin similar to Catherine Zeta Jones. I bought the 50% Glycolic peel for $11 and a lightening cream for about $14. The lightening gel has 15% Glycolic Acid, 4% Hydroquinone and Kojic Acid. I grew up in Los Angeles, I spent every summer probably fro my first through 18 on the beach or by the pool everyday. I should be a prune but I am not. However, I have ended up with a horrid case of melasma. 4 weeks into this combination - gel 2x a day and peel 1x/week my skin looks 10 years younger. I still have the spots but they are not as obvious. I am hoping they will be gone in another month.
I will keep you posted if you keep me posted. I'm obsessed with this stuff. I may do my decolletage next.
What does the emu oil do? I've been using the Oil Cleansing method and Cetaphil to clean my skin. Its very gentle with all the acid I'm slathering on my face. |

Emu oil contains a lot of emollient fatty acids that can help with skin repair and anti-aging |

that sounds very cheap for the combo of glycolic acid and hydroquinone, and it is a good combo to use. In Canada you pay 20 dollars for ultraquin which is the 4% hydroquinone alone! and the glycolic acid is another 30 dollars at least |

Who/what is a good source or brand for emu oil? I purchased once from eBay and it didn't seem to help at all, but I do remember hearing rave reviews in regards to emu oil, years ago. |

I usually purchase my oils from mountain rose herbs or garden of wisdom and also new directions aromatics. I personally prefer mrh because of all the awards they've won :P |

Is "MRH" the brand of Emu? How is it working for you? Are you using it on your face? Have you noticed an improvement? Sorry for all the questions |

I am looking at Mountain Rose Herbs site, but can't find emu oil on there, although this did catch my eyes: Wild Rose Facial Oil
$13.00
... growth, and for assisting with damage due to acne, scars, sun exposure, or other excessive damage. This is a very concentrated oil, and only a finger tip or two is needed.Contains: Organic Calendula oil, organic Wild Rosehip Seed oil, organic Jojoba oil, ...
anyone try this out? Sounds good! |

I guess MRH doesn't carry it - I assumed it would considering how many oils they have already. Garden of Wisdom does have it though.
And to answer your earlier questions, I haven't used emu oil before, but I am using their jojoba, avocado and argan oil and they are very good quality and moisturizes my skin very well. |

Oasis, are you using the jojoba and other oils for moisturization purposes only? I have tried Jojoba, in the past (and Hazelnut), but didn't notice too much of an improvement with either. Although I have heard great things about jojoba. |

Yes, but I do not use jojoba on the face. It made the pores on my nose look bigger than they actually are for some reason. But that was when my nose had a very serious breakout of blackheads (not due to the jojoba). I'll probably try it again later on. Right now, I use it with a mix of avocado and argan oil as a body and hair moisturizer. It works really well for both and it's great cause it doesn't actually feel oily after I put it on unlike some body moisturizers. I'm planning to add in coconut oil to the mix too.
But yes, the great things you hear about jojoba certainly are true, but it just doesn't work for everyone unfortunately. |

Neostrata has a gel that is glycolic and 4% hydroquinone.
I bought it at Shoppers Drugmart and I think you can use your points to pay for it (I used to have hundreds of thousands of points from some good bonus deals they had last year....).
I think it costs around $35 but you have to ask the pharmacist for it, it is not on the shelf.
For a peel I am sometimes using the Exuviance 25% peel sold at EDS.
I have pretty sensitive skin and that works well for me every few weeks.
In between that I use Nucelle mandelic serum 10% a few nights a week.
overall my skin looks nice (exept for 2 pesky blemishes at the moment..grrrrr).
My skin tone/appearance is very similar to Mila Kunis (i actually get a lot of comments that I look like her-I'm part Romanian,Spanish,french,Canadian...kind of olive medium beige skin tone ! |

I never thought of putting hazelnut oil on my face.
it is really cheap from La Tourangelle- they sell the roasted nut oils you cook with.
but I'm sure you can put it on your face if it is food grade- has to be kept in the fridge to keep it from spoiling.
I use the hazelnut oil to stir fry mushrooms- it gives a really rich taste.
you can eat them like that or with pasta I guess.
I have also used some of the hazelnut oil in rice crispy squares and it gives a bit of nutty taste instead of butter or margarine.
Sorry I know this is a skin thread, but nut oils remind me of cooking as it is what i use them for
for La Tourangelle, Amazon.com has that breand cheap w free shipping for US. |

These are supposed to consist of a good range of products that contain some really good actives in them. I have seen them on eBay and they look very tempting. |

I have tried their products and have had great results. I have used their glycolic lotion, hydroquin serum, emu oil and tepezcohuite cream. I used the glycolic lotion because I would get ingrown hairs from shaving. I had heard that glycolic acid helps prevent against ingrown hairs. It has definitely worked! And it is very moisturizing. It doesn't irritate my skin. I used the hydroquin serum to treat some melasma I had on my face. It worked like a charm. Within a month I had much clearer skin. The emu oil was for my daughter who had problematic acne. She used a little bit each day and her skin looks much better. The tepezcohuite cream I use as my daily moisturizer. I call it my multipurpose cream because even my husband uses it after he shaves or when someone has irritated skin. It is a great item! Overall I have really liked their products. |

Anybody have any updates on this brand? Never heard of them before, but it came up in a search when I was looking for a 30% glycolic product. The product I'm most interested in is this one -
http://www.asdmbeverlyhills.com/Glycolic-Acid-Cream-Glycolic-Acid-Complex-ASDM-Beverly-Hills_p_87.html
Very reasonable price, and ingredients look OK. Any comments/suggestions before I click and buy? I noticed some of the positive reviews here were from members with only 1 post, but some of the asdm products do look interesting... |

I'd like to try this brand as well. It seems to be very popular on ebay.

Did a 50% Glycolic peel last night with this brand. Have used their peels many times with great success. Hard to beat the price. |

I think I'll give them a go. The body lotion with 30% glycolic is also on my list. Not easy to find a body lotion at over 20%. |

Has anyone used the Skin bleaching Skin lightening Hydroquinone 4 Serum? Could this one product replace Obagi Clear and Exfoderm? It's a little less expensive plus has kojic acid. |
